(Kingdom Hearts vs Final Fantasy)Connections :
*Time traveling villainous masterminds who drove the main protagonists'
rivals, Seifer and Riku, into villainy by preying upon their personal
insecurities and tempting them with offers of power.
*In order to properly manifest themselves in the present day, they
respectively have to take control of Riku's body (and later a replica
vessel in KH3) and the various sorceresses seen throughout FFVIII.
*They also ensured that the events of their games would actually take
place by means of a time loop in which Ansem instructed Young Xehanort
to seek out twelve other incarnations of himself across time and a dying
Ultimecia passed her powers onto a young Edea Kramer.
*Both are extremely powerful magic users who possess shadowy guardians
(the Guardian Heartless and Griever) they can summon to aid them in
battle. The final battles against them are long, multi phased endeavors
that end with both fusing with their respective guardians to form
eldritch monstrosities, with the human form of Ansem growing out of the
resulting fusion's ribcage and Ultimecia's body suspended underneath her
final form.
