-Both starts as Villain's that are Offspring's off a Greater Evil that shares the same name.
-They are a Big Threat intel the Kind Hearted Protagonist Spared them even being half beaten to death (Crono and gang and Goku).
-They Would join the Party and Train the Young
-Protagonist to fight a Ultimate Evil (Gohan and Vegeta and Crono and Lavos).
-Then Both would Give Their Life for the protagonist show how much they carried about them and Pass the Fight for peace for them to finish (there is also the added contrast, that They won due to piccolo's sacrifice where as some version of Crono still die).
-Depending on the ending some versions, Both then later on have a strong Bond with the protagonist and Train them so they can protect their loved ones and Both join in obtaining a Magical Item (s) that the Series is named after (The Chrono Trigger and the Dragon Balls).
