(Bleach vs The World Ends With You)Connections: Hot-blooded bloaks who lived in the shadow of a girl they had known and been with since childhood (Renji's childhood friend Rukia and Beat's sister Rhyme) that harbour feelings of inferiority as a result of this despite the hard work they put in, leading them to developing a grudge (Renji training so much in Shin'ō Academy and moving up the ranks of the Gotei 13 but never being able to surpass Byakuya, Rukia's new step-brother after being adopted, and Beat trying hard to do well academically in school but never being able to get good grades and being compared constantly to his sister). Eventually both girls would essentially be removed from their personal lives for reasons out of their control, which as much as they try to hide it hurts them deeply (Rukia being adopted into the Kuchiki family and Beat straight up losing her memories of Beat). As they try to earn them back in their lives, said girls are threatened with permanent death, devastating and nearly breaking the two (Rukia being sentenced to execution and Rhyme being erased from existence), but they're able to save them with the help of a orange spiky haired punk they initially had a rocky relationship with but ended up forging a bond with, in no small part thanks to this (Ichigo and Neku respectively).
