Description Almost every kind of pokémon has a male and a female.
Dispite that people would almost always refer to some as "him" and others as "her"
Machoke? Him.
Gardevoir? Her.
Both of them have both males and females that look exactly alike.

And out of all the pokémon I have, Lilligant is the only one to only be able to be one.

Lovely as Lilly is, I think it's kinda sad for them...
Wild Lilligants can't ever reproduce.
And if only females exist, I really doubt even a Ditto could change into a male...
HOW DO PETILIL COME TO BE?!
I might have an idea but I want to know the real story!

BUT!
Lilly here doesn't really seem to care.
She seems happy enough

LET ME JUST ADD THIS:
I know about egg groups, stop pointing it out.
Does not mean I'll pair them up willy nilly.
I meant that I wanted to know how they came to be at the start.
Now please quit it.

What do you mean?

LonelyTear-T-T In reply to RangerRudy [2016-04-05 18:25:42 +0000 UTC]

I just realised my previous sentence sounds dirty...

I am a lucid dreamer, I can explore and control dreams ^^ so back in my dream world there are those creatures... I call them Florans, they are people made out of leaves and flowers, muck like Pokémon on your picture ^^
So I was just doing some self-reference

Take a look at some of my drawings if you real like it, it will prob explain what I mean.

I don't really get how it sounded dirty.

It sounded like you imagine there are both males and females of Lilligant.

Roughly said yes, in my dreams there are both kinds, they are similar to your liligant as far as the concept goes, but have their own features that make them what they are.
I wanted to become an artist months ago so I can draw these characters I dream about, and things I find similar to them alweys interest me

Neat.

My dreams are rather boring.

well eggs are always the same species as the mom so........

RangerRudy In reply to Inkcess [2016-02-03 16:33:30 +0000 UTC]

I know. But I never just said there are no males and I think that is sad for Lilly.
But she keeps smiling, so it's all good.

But plant eggs sound wierd to me.
So if they didn't lay eggs (Which I find more believeable than that everything lays eggs except humans, as far as I know) Plant pokémon could just do spores or whatever.

Inkcess In reply to RangerRudy [2016-02-03 16:44:32 +0000 UTC]

I guess if she can still smile it's ok.

They are are weird so is the idea of a luxray being a female or laying eggs. There are to many weird things in the pokeuniverse.

RangerRudy In reply to Inkcess [2016-02-03 19:08:33 +0000 UTC]

Or any mamal based Pokémon laying eggs...

It's wierd.
I get why... But it's still wierd.

Asexual reproduction son!
Plants do it in response to lack of physical trauma... or is that something else?

Or, thanks to tha fact that Lilly is basically a plant, SPORES!

...Lilligant reproduce by spores?

RangerRudy In reply to LightArcIndumati [2016-01-22 23:07:54 +0000 UTC]

I'd like to imagine she does

I have no clue how Nintendo thinks of it but I like it my way!

LightArcIndumati In reply to RangerRudy [2016-01-22 23:27:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, in the wild in the game's canon, how many Lilligant are there in the wild? In fact, many Pokemon stages can't be found in the wild at all...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RangerRudy In reply to LightArcIndumati [2016-01-22 23:39:30 +0000 UTC]

You need a Sunstone to get one.

But evolved pokémon are still more common than you'd think.

Like Mismagius. Needs a Duskstone to evolve... Can be encountered... But just not in games...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LightArcIndumati In reply to RangerRudy [2016-01-23 00:29:30 +0000 UTC]

But usually under trainers...

Lilligant can at least bred with other grass types in their egg group, like Cherubi.

Uh...
they could mate with males of an other species to produce Petilil...
The real question is how male only Pokemon reproduce without Ditto.

For plant based pokémon I have an easy answer.

For non-plants... I have no clue... Magic perhaps...

Here's a bigger question: if Mandibuzz are all female and Braviary are all male and the game mechanic is the offspring is always the female's species, where did they ever get Rufflet without a Ditto?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RangerRudy In reply to DatFMEntertainment [2016-01-22 20:05:11 +0000 UTC]

Wow...
I have an answer that might make a little sense for Lilligant...
But not this one!

I know some animals can still lay eggs without males and basically clone themselves.
But since males don't lay eggs... It should be impossible!

BUT since the games never actually say how the eggs come to be...
For all we know it's magic...

DatFMEntertainment In reply to RangerRudy [2016-01-22 20:07:25 +0000 UTC]

And that's where the fan theories come in. Hopefully ones that aren't insane

That's one of the cool things about Pokémon. It's one of those series where not everything is established in order to invite some to expand upon its vast universe.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RangerRudy In reply to DatFMEntertainment [2016-01-22 20:12:19 +0000 UTC]

Exactly!

But the egg thing is wierd...
Due to our perception of eggs, we assume the pokémon do things...
Especially since we need both a male and a female.
Still... We can only guess...
