I did this for the government's Electoral State Comission. The agency where I used to work (BBDO) presented some ad campaigns for the upcoming elections.I did the storyboards and the character designs for the animated ads.
I based the look on Al Hirschfeld's style and originaly pushed for the ads to be animated like that Fantasia 2000 short "Rhapsody in Blue"
Sadly, the animation house that did the final ads changed the designs up a bit and it didn't look as fluid. They still did a very good job though, if you wanna see the final ads:

Yeah, they failed, they should have kept it 2d instead of using a 2d filter on 3d. But i guess if you have to technology you are going to use it.

Yeah, I've noticed that houses are using 3D and faking the 2D more and more often. Its way cheaper, easier and faster.
To me, there is no substitute..EVER. Nothing ever looks as visceral or genuine, some might argue even as to artistic...as 2D.

Rhapsody in Blue. I'm pretty sure I remember that one. It was very jazzy and stuff, right? I liked that one.

Me acordastes cuando trabaje con Animacion Boricua. Cuando diseñe los primeros personajes me mandaron a cambiar como 5. Asi q no te apures q nos pasa a todos.
