Good job! I love the shading, still trying to figure out how the hell to do that lol. I like the detail though, and I don't see any mistakes... I think all artists are just a bit critical on themselves...

lol thanks what i do with the shading is i use 4b pencil for the really dark parts. then i use 2h pencil on the shadows. I shade the dark areas first. then I shade the shadows. then I use my HB pencil to give dark tones to the shadows.. lol I'm terrible at explaining xD well if i was gonna change something in this drawing it would be the mouth because it looks bloody awful xD

I probably need to look for my pencil set, lol. I've been using just a regular mechanical pencil for the past few months, I've just now gotten decently good at pencil sketches... But ty, I'll be sure to try that on my next drawing

i suggest using real wooden pencils when shading because it's easier and i think it looks better. it would be harder to shade large areas using a fine tip and btw I'm not saying this is "the" way to do it. It's just "a" way. try and experiment a bit to find your own style
(lol now I sound like Mark Crilley) xD

Lol, it's true though! And Mark Crilley is a good artist, he seems to know what he's talking about if he published "Miki Falls". And I get what you mean with the wooden pencils, I've always had better luck shading with them, but I can't stand drawing the lines with them for some reason lol. Thanks for the tips, it's always difficult to find your own style and I hope I can find mine once I get a decent all around look lol. :^^:

it will come through time ^-^ I'm proud to say that Mark Crilley is the reason I draw today. If I hadn't seen his videos I wouldn't be drawing anime. He taught me almost everything I know. I even have his book "Mastering Manga" and it helped me a lot!! ^-^ lol i think it's best to just use mechanical pencil on the lines

Sadly I'm self taught for five years and have never gotten to be very good, or found a sort of style that's worked. Mark Crilley is where I learned most of my anime basics when I got serious, but I really didn't consciously try to start drawing it actually, I just randomly picked it up from a series I was watching at the time. I was maybe nine when I started drawing anime, but I just got serious in the last year or so. Sadly, I don't learn quickly lol.

keep at it I guess you have to consciously try to set a certain style for yourself. that's what I did recently. I kinda set a procedure for myself that I do in all of my art. I start with a sketch, darken the lines with pencil, then shade the darkest parts then the lighter parts. I try to keep it consistent through all of my drawings and that's where my individual style came from. I guess real life drawing helps too. I used to take some art classes for a few weeks before and it was about real art. i think it helps to learn how to draw a real face before drawing a cartoony anime face. if i was gonna give advice, it would be to not give up and have self-discipline. I used to give up a lot on my drawings. the moment I start and it doesn't go my way, i throw it out. but then i learned that no matter how ugly it may seem at first, i'll try my best to make it better... so i still give up sometimes, but not as much xD lol it's okay if you don't learn quickly. take it at your own pace and enjoy it ^-^
