Part Three
“Mistaken Identity.”
The sun began to peek out over the horizon, the first rays of light falling over the city and casting light on the still sleeping city. Many would not up for hours still, waiting for the sun to fully rise before they did. However, Thena was not one of them. She sat up and stretched, ready to face her day. She slid her legs over the side of the bed and wandered off to get washed up. She was a tall and strong elf with pale skin and short sandy blonde hair. She was well muscled and strong but still had more curves than most elves in the city. She used to think she was too curvy, too tall but since had decided such things were not worth worrying about. She bathed quickly, enjoying the fact that the most reliable hot water was before everyone else was up. She then dressed in her simple jerkin, trousers and brown leather boots. She was not one to dress feminine and liked things that were practical. Many towns guards like her liked to have flashy armored pieces and distracting decorations. Thena however preferred her regular breastplate and bracers. They were standard issue and though they were well maintained they showed their wear and caught her little attention.
Thena had a simple breakfast of bread and cheese before she headed out on patrol. Her fellow guards were still waking up, dragging their feet and getting caught up in conversations with each other. They liked to wallow in the cities drama as it distracted them. Thena ignored this and started her patrol, eager to get to her day.
The days work went by with little fanfare, there were people lost, small disputes in the markets and talk of travellers that had people suspicious. Thena dealt with each issue as professionally as she could, giving everyone and every issue due time and attention.
Thena had a simple dinner of stew at a local tavern and began to make her way back toward the barracks. She likely would do her laundry before reading and then bed. It was a simple day with nothing exciting or out of place…that was how Thena liked it.
That was when she saw it, a strange individual as if out of the corner of her eye. She saw a flash of violet hair, a flash of black and then the person disappeared. She recalled the talk of strange individuals she had heard earlier and turned on a heal to investigate. She moved slowly and cautiously, trying to pick up the individuals trail but not seem to be too obvious. She kept seeing glances of the person, clearly skilled at stealth move through the city. She felt her heart race, though it was the opposite of the kind of thing she usually wanted to occur she couldn’t help but admit she was excited by what she might find out.
She soon reached the area near the southern wall and was sure she had cornered the individual. However as she got to the wall she found no one there. Thena put her hands on her hips and wondered where she might have made a mistake.
“What a merry chase.” An unfamiliar voice said from behind her. Thena spun around and found the purple haired woman she had been chasing her somehow behind her. She was a similar height to Thena with similar pale skin. However her eyes were a bright red and on her head were a pair of dark purple horns. Her black leather outfit was skin tight, consisting of a corset and bodysuit with bare shoulders. She wore long black and violet moved and had similar thigh high socks connected to the bodysuit with black garters. The heels and toes of her socks were cut out to expose her feet and violet painted toes. She showed a lot of skin and her long forked tail flicked around her body as she stood with her hands on her hips.
“You are…” Thena replied, her words sticking in her mouth as she thought to the papers in the log hall of villains and undesirable individuals in the realm. She didn’t want to believe she was face to face with one but this outfit, that hair…it had to be one of them. “You are Deviin…the trickster demon.”
“Oh you flatter me.” Deviin replied with a grin. “Such flattery will get you nowhere. What is your name dear?”
“I am Thena Magenti of the city guard!” Thena replied, trying to manage as much authority as she could muster. You are a wanted criminal, you must come with me to the stockades at once!”
“Oh I mustn’t disagree!” Deviin replied as she held out her hands. “Are you going to tie me up?”
“I-I YES!” Thena replied as she stepped forward. “I will manacle you.”
“Yes please.” Deviin said with a mischievous grin. “I will not resist.”
Thena nodded and stepped forward, drawing her manacles from her belt. She put a hand on Deviin’s wrist but before she could do anything else Deviin turned over her hand and scratched Thena’s wrist with one of her long purple nails.
“What did you do?” Thena said as she staggered back, her vision begging to blur. Strength began to fade out of her body and stars swirled around her head. She went to say something out but her voice failed her and she fell forward. Deviin caught her and she heard her voice as she faded out of consciousness.
“Careful there dear.” Deviin said in an insincere kind voice. “I have such plans for you.”
Thena felt a darkness so deep she could not even dream. It was like she was sinking in quicksand and everything was pushing in on her from all directions at once. Little by little the darkness faded and she began to become aware of her body. She was on a bench or something and when she tried to move she slid off of it. Her feet caught her before she hit the floor, working more from reflex than anything else. She stumbled forward for a few steps as she became aware of figures around her. She put her palms over her eyes and tried to rub the blurriness out of them. She took another couple of shaky steps and realised she could feel the sick stone beneath her feet…her bare feet. Thena hated walking around barefoot almost as much as she hated the idea of anyone seeing her feet. She wondered if she had been robbed as she struggled to remember what had happened. She moved around, the people around her seeming curious but not really interested in her state. She felt cold, her skin not warmed as it should be by her clothes and armor. Did they steal her clothes? Was she naked. She put her hands to her sides and was relieved to find that it was not bare flesh. However the material was ridged and felt alien. What was she wearing, what had happened?
Thena struggled through the crowd as her vision and hearing began to clear. She didn’t know what she was looking for but needed some kind of sanctuary to process the chaos of her situation. She soon found an area off to the side, by a wall and spotted a mirror. She stumbled over to it, her feet still shaking of unsteadiness and to being bare. She tripped and fell toward the mirror, her arms shooting out to brace herself in front of the mirror. She was stable and safe for now but as she looked up at the mirror what she saw stole the breath right out of her mouth. She didn’t see what she expected, instead saw someone that caused all of her memories to rush back in place.
“Deviin!”
Thena could not believe her eyes, she was looking at the mirror and it was Deviin that was looking back at her. At first, she wondered if she had somehow switched bodies but as she looked closer, she realised that it was indeed her face that was staring back at her…it was just different. She leaned in closer and realised that her hair had somehow been replaced and her face made up to look like Deviin’s, even her eyebrows had been recoloured and reshaped. Her sandy blonde hair was gone, replaced by the longer violet hair of the trickster woman. She reached up and took hold of the hair and gave it a tug. It was some kind of wig, but something was holding it to her scalp, and it refused to budge. She struggled with the front of the hair line but could not separate the wig from skin no matter how hard she struggled she could not free it even a fraction of an inch.
Thena looked at her face and noticed the strange cheek markings Deviin had were also on her cheek. She scrubbed at them with her hands but found them stained to her skin. They would not even smear! Were they permanent? Were they tattooed? She looked higher and noticed she was wearing makeup. Thena usually preferred the bare faced look and instinctively tried to wipe it off. However, the eyeshadow, blush, mascara and even the lipstick would not even smudge no matter how hard she scrubbed it with her hands.
Gloved hands???
That was when she fully realised her hands were in fact encased in black gloves. She bit at them on the end of one of the fingers, but the glove stayed tight around each of her finger, not even stretching as she pulled. It was as if it was a second skin stuck tight to her digits. She reached up to the bicep and the other end of the but couldn’t even get a finger under it to try and pull it down. She clawed at the leathery fabric but could not even get a grip on it. It was as if the gloves were painted on and nothing could get at them.
This was when Thena a became intrinsically aware of the rest of her outfit. The haze was gone and she was now realizing she was not just wearing a magic wig and face markings, she was fully dressed as Deviin. She saw her breasts nearly out, the corseted top showing more of her breasts than most had ever even imagined. She instinctively covered them up with her hands, wondering how they were contained by the corset at all. It’s was like there was barely enough fabric to cover her nipples and hold them in place but yet they were. She manipulated one of her breasts and not only found them supported but pretty much stuck to the fabric of the corset. Not that she wanted to take them out, but she doubted she could pop a tit even if she did. The rest of the corset had a myriad of straps and were ridged against her body. She realized she had a lack of movement in her front and sides and the straps were locked tighter than the lock on a treasure chest.
This was when she made the realization that her ass was out. Her hands flew from her breasts to her ass in a futile attempt to cover up. The corset had a bodysuit cut smaller than a bathing suit and that meant her whole ass and her thighs were exposed. She looked down at her own thick thighs, looking larger than and very much not used to being so exposed. She grabbed at the fabric, trying to loosen it from where it went between her cheeks and into her ass, but it wouldn’t budge. It was semi flexible but locked against her skin like everything else.
“How the fuck do I pee?” The a caught herself saying aloud.
At her tailbone the tail was connected, and it was rigidly held in place and when Thena moved, it moved around on its own. She knew that she most definitely did not have a tail so she wondered what kind of magic fixed it to her and what made it move.
She also wore thigh high leggings that were connected to the bodysuit by garter straps. These straps were loose enough to get a hold of but they couldn’t budge, rip or break. The leggings ended in a stirrup but left the heels and balls of her feet bare as well as her toes. Her nails were painted a vibrant violet and somehow the idea that people at the ball could see her feet was almost more mortifying than her breasts or ass. Not that her feet were ugly or ill maintained, in fact the opposite. She took great pride in her feet but she didn’t want anyone to see them, it was just too intimate.
“There she is!” A gruff man called out. He had horns and red skin and wore a tight sneer on his face. “You have a lot of nerve showing yourself around here.”
“I’m I think there has been some kind of misunderstanding.” Thena said, trying not to look like she was embarrassed to be showing so much skin. “I assure you I am not who you think I am.”
“What manner of lunacy is that?” The gruff man scoffed. “You are Deviin, trickster, liar and their.”
“Ok I know this looks bad and I look a lot like her.” Thena said as she tugged on the costume and hair. “This is just some kind of costume I am the victim of a cruel joke.”
Another individual walked up, a stern faced woman who had the same level of anger on her face. “This is a joke right? You are just looking for excuses not to face the consequences of your schemes.”
“I am not Deviin!” Thena insisted. “My name is Thena, and I am a town guard and Deviin kidnapped me and dressed me up as her. This is nothing more than a costume. I don’t normally look anything like this!”
“That has to be the weirdest excuse ever.” Another said as he joined. He was an elf with a long scar going down his face. “If it is a costume then take it off!”
“I am certainly trying!” Thena explained as she tugged savagely at he costume, trying different aces, trying to find some kind of weak spot. “It is just kinda…stuck.”
“So let me get this straight…” The stern elf began as she crossed her arms. “You are not actually Deviin, you are a town guard that has been kidnapped, dressed up and are stuck dressed up as a villain.”
“Precisely!” Thena answered in relief. “You got it exactly.”
“I don’t believe it for a second.” The stern elf replied. “You are just cornered and trying to save yourself.”
“I’m serious!” Thena said as she tugged on her wig, and it was only then she noticed she had horns. She tried to even make one move but it was as if they were eluded to her head and held in place but something under the wig. “I’m stuck like this!”
“Well it wont be a problem much longer.” The Griff man said as he stepped forward and drew a sword. Though she was unarmed, dressed like a demon slut and barefoot, Thena was a warrior and she was the best in her class. She moved in faster than the gruff man had anticipated and struck his arm with her fist, fracturing his forearm and making him unable to draw his blade. She spun and brought up a knee, crushing a rub and sending him flaying backwards.
The others were shocked by the quick response but would not be so for long. Thena had only a moment to take advantage of the chaos as she moved in and struck at the elf and drive her toward the other combatant. She then moved off, using the crowd to her advantage to make pursuit harder. She didn’t care which way out she found as long as she found a way to escape.
She soon found her way to a balcony and checked to see how high she was. The was two or three stories up but there to be a fountain below. Thena looked back and saw that her pursuers were making there way to her and picked up a few more on the way. Deviin seemed to have pissed off more people than she thought and they were out for blood. Thena took a deep breath and dove off of the balcony and hit the water below. Luckily, she didn’t collide with anything but water and swam to the other end. She had half hoped the water might loosen whatever magical glue held her in the costume but it was not the case. She emerged from the fountain and headed out into the night.
The next morning Thena found herself in a small town. She went to the local mage and told him her story. He believed her and was not one of the people who had a bone to pick with Deviin. Thena desperately needed some way out of the outfit if she was going to return home. She was not quite sure she was but knowing the stupidity of some of the younger guards know better to approach while dressed. She had tried to cover herself with a cloak but some kind of magical field prevented her from even haphazardly wrapping it around herself. She was stuck dressed as Deviin and it seemed she wasn’t meant to be able to hide it.
“I’m sorry miss Thena.” The mage stated as he looked up from a book. “It appears the…outfit is of magical design and it is adhered to your flesh with an invisible magic glue. I can find no way to remove it or damage the costume in any way. For the time being you are stuck in it.”
“Well I can’t go home.” Thena commented. “And people seem to be after Deviin.”
“You seem to be a decoy.” The mage commented. “Stuck looking like her to distract the pursuers or at worse take her punishment at their hands. You will have a hard time searching for a way out of that identity while they pursue you.”
Thena nodded. “You are right. It is not going to be a hard road but it seems I’m forced to walk it.”
“Barefoot.” The mage added. “I cannot even loosen the spell to allow you to wear foot coverings.”
“Well I suppose I should get moving then.” Thena said as she stood up. “They are looking for me and I shouldn’t spend too long in one place.”
“Is there anything else I can help you with?” The mage asked.
“Yeah.” Thena commented. “Figure out how the hell I pee in this getup.”
