Description
Hakuna X Anko.
By FOXCARROTS
Mitarashi Anko leaped from tree to tree, she was late for her return to Leaf Village and was still a few days away. She was tired and her feet hurt but decided it was still at least an hour until she would need to rest. She was a powerful and agile ninja from the hidden leaf. She had dark violet hair and pale brown eyes. She wore her hair up in a spiked ponytail and wore a beige trench coat over her ninja skirt and fishnet bodysuit. She was a high ranking ninja and used to working alone. As easy as it was to relax and focus only on what was ahead she knew she had to stay vigilant. A glimpse of movement caught her eye, a movement so fast many lower level ninjas might have missed it. Reflex took over and her direction changed in a heartbeat. Whoever it was had great speed, but so did Anko.
After several seconds the blurry figure began to slow, obviously aware of pursuit. Hakuna was not used to anyone being able to keep up with her and felt a little impressed. She was dressed in a blue kimono top over a brown under suit and skirt. She had black tied into a bun hidden by white cloth. Usually, she tried not to arouse any ninja curiosity without orders from her master, but she had to see this ninja who seemingly could match her running speed. She stopped in a clearing and stood waiting for her pursuer to catch up. within seconds Anko landed and stood confidently looking at Hakuna.
"You're quite fast." Anko exclaimed. "Almost fast enough to keep up with me."
"If I had wanted to catch you I could have." Hakunana said with a smile. "However your speed is impressive."
"So what exactly are you doing out this far? And what village are you from?" Asked Anko.
"That is my buisness and mine alone.” Hakuna replied I doubt you would answer the same question had I asked it of you."
Anko put her hands on her hips and grinned. "I am confident with my mission and my origins. I am obviously from leaf village." Anko pointed at her forehead protector bearing the leaf insignia. "Unfortunately my mission is less of a mission but an errand run fit for a first year ninja."
Hakuna tilted her head. "Oh?"
Anko reached into her jacket and produced a small tube. "Just delivering this to the Hokage. Nothing earth shattering. Frankly nothing worthy of my talents."
Hakuna stared at the tube. "Are you sure it is wise to tell a compete stranger with no village insignia what you are carrying?"
Anko laughed. "As if this is anything important. I was just given this to bring to the Hokage because I was happening to be on my way home. It's likely something stupid.”
"I have to tell you I'm intrigued." Hakuna said while continuing to stare at the tube. "I think I will take it from you."
Anko stiffened. "What? Damn my trusting nature. Try if you want but I will stop at nothing to give this to the Hokage even if its seemingly worthless."
Hakuna came at Anko with lightning speed, her needles appeared between her fingers in a flash. Anko, not to be outdone had a kunai in each hand just as fast. Both fought as fast and as hard as they could, metal clanging off metal, both narrowly missing each other many times.
"I must admit you are almost a match for me at combat." Hakuna exclaimed. "But I will show you I am faster." Hakuna faked a strike for Anko's face but dodged in and took the vial. Anko realized the fake out and went to slash at Hakuna's arm but instead hit the tube, a strange violet liquid sprayed out between the two. In the shock of it all the two collided in mid air and fell to the ground. the pair rolled to a stop on the ground with Hakuna on top of Anko.
"I am rarely surprised." Hakuna smiled. "I could not get that away from you fast enough. I will have to settle with the fact that the contents are spilled on us and not deliverable to your Hokage." With that Hakuna went to leap up to her feet. But a strange thick tendril of rubbery glue stretched from her left hip like an elastic band. It stretched about two feet then snapped her violently back onto Anko. "What is this???"
Anko tried to push Hakuna off of her but the offending substance that bound Hakuna's left hip to her right would stretch but not break. "This is disgusting. Get off of me!"
Hakuna shook her head "I assure you I am trying but it would appear I cannot. This stuff is stuck on us and seems reluctant to let go."
With some effort the two got to their feet. They discovered that they could comfortably stretch it so they could stand side by side with a little effort. The glue only bonded the radius of a fist to each of them but held fast. Upon closer examination the glue had eaten right through the fabric of their clothes and bonded skin, so removing their garments was not a possible way to escape.
Anko growled "This is ridiculous! You launch that way as hard as you can and I will go this way. We will break free of this!"
The two pushed off of another with lightening speed using all the strength they both could muster, the glue stretched two feet and snapped them back together so hard they almost fell down again. Again and again they tried this but never further than two feet could they get. Hours passed as they lunged and lunged. They would grab trees and try to use brute strength. They tried to cut the now dry, but still rubbery glue with kunai and needle but it would not damage. Both used every jitsu they knew that had a possible chance of freeing them but none came even close to working. Both were bruised and tired and made one last lunge for freedom. The glue stretched its two feet and together they were pulled once more, the impact brought them both together so hard they were thrown to the ground. Anko was pulled toward Hakuna and their lips touched, almost as a kiss. Anko for a second enjoyed the sensation, Hakuna's lips were as soft as hers but the rage returned as she tried to throw herself off of Hakuna, her teeth gritted and her muscles flexed but the glue just pulled her back. frustrated Anko beat her fist against the earth. "Were stuck!!!"
Hakuna looked at her. "Yes, very stuck. We must stay calm however. There is a river nearby. The only thing I can think of is to try and dissolve it."
Anko nodded and they struggled to their feet. Walking was difficult but after a few minutes they were able to figure out how to walk somewhat normally using the give of the glue as much as they could. Soon they reached the river. Anko had no intention of removing her garments in front of Hakuna so she only removed her jacket, shoes, and shin guards. Hakuna removed her over kimono and also slipped her shoes off. Anko glanced at Hakuna's painted toenails. "Such attractive feet.” Anko thought and quicky steeled herself against such thoughts. This girl was cute but she was an enemy and she must not rest until she could become unstuck from her.
The two walked into the water and sat down to wait for the water to dissolve the glue, the river coming just above their chests. Several minutes passed and Anko broke the silence. "This stuff is going to come off us right?"
Hakuna paused. "There are many glues I know of. Very few are completely permanent."
Anko gasped. "There are completely permanent glues???"
Hakuna looked back at Anko staring at her intensely. "Yes. there are a few rare glues that once set can not be removed. They are, by design permanent and nothing known can remove or destroy them. They are meant to bond what is stuck forever. Ingenious chemical design and the use of powerful magics seal them so that they will hold whatever it sticks eternally."
Anko gulped. "How horrible if that is what this stuff is."
Hakuna looked Anko in the eyes. "Yes that would be terrible. If that is what this stuff is you and I will be together until the ends of our lives with no remote hope of ever being separated. Also, since it is bonded to our main bodies, amputation or surgery could not be used. Let us pray that it is not that kind of glue or our current annoyance is permanent."
Anko stared into the water. "Such a substance terrifies me. But why would someone be giving permanent glue to the Hokage? Lets give this glue a few hours of soaking and I’m sure we'll be able to separate."
Anko and Hakuna sat for hours silently not moving. They spoke about unimportant things, mostly to pass the time. Eventually they even learned each others names. Neither admitted much more, or about their past. Anko admitted to herself that in other circumstances she would be crazy for this girl but these were feelings she could not allow herself. Hakuna rarely allowed herself to think about how she felt about people, her life had been captivated by her master for so long. But this girl, so full of strength and energy, there was just something about her. Primary on Hakunas mind was getting free. She could not be seen by her master like she was, she was useless to them hopelessly tethered to a leaf ninja. Hakuna had to get unstuck or her journeys with her master were over.
Hours had passed and the sun had gone down when the two decided the glue must have dissolved. Neither could decide on who would stay seated and who would try to stand. They decided on Anko, and she leaped up with a start. Just when she started to believe that the glue was gone, and she could continue she reached the two-foot limit and felt the all too familiar yank of the glue hit her and it pulled her back to Hakuna's side.
"Dammit!" Anko cried "Were still just as stuck as we were when we entered the river! Well let’s get out of the river."
Hakuna turned to Anko with a concerned look on her face "I am afraid that is not possible."
Anko looked back at her confused. "Why not?"
Hakuna, staying calm replied "I have been sitting very still this while time, not moving around as much as you. It would appear some sort of creature dwelling in the muck of this river had attached itself somehow to both of my feet. I fear reaching down, but whenever I try to move my feet, I am met with a very real and very solid resistance. I cannot break free."
Anko gasped. "You mean some creature is stuck on you???"
"No...I am stuck to the creature and I am stuck in this spot. I do not know its plans for my feet but as of yet my skin is unbroken. Anko could you please try to release its hold?"
Anko paused, she was weary of such a creature but unless she could free Hakuna she was stuck too. Visions of Hakuna's perfectly painted toenails echoed in her brain, she had been given an invited opportunity to touch her feet. Anko nodded and reached her hands down Hakuna's leg until she reached her ankle. She continued down, noticing how very smooth her foot was until she stopped on a solid jagged mass. Anko almost withdrew her hands but the creature did not stir so she continued. Anko carefully examined the situation. The extremities of the creature were wrapped around the arch of Hakuna's foot and around her heel. Another one wrapped tightly around her big toe. She examined her other foot to find it similarly snagged. Anko got a firm grip on the part over her arch and pulled as hard as she could. The extremity held like steel. Anko tried and tried but nowhere was a weak spot that could be exploited. She withdrew a kunai, but the exoskeleton of the creature would not yield to her razor-sharp knife. Anko tried everything she could think of, Hakuna then joined in. They could not break the creatures grip nor could they find any part of the creature that was venerable as most of it was buried in deep mud.
"Anko It would seem that my feet cannot be freed."
"Don't you give up Hakuna! Don't forget that were stuck together! If you’re stuck here, I’m stuck here too!" With that Anko stamped her foot on the river floor, she felt a rumble."
"Anko! I felt it move its grip. Whatever you did, do it again!"
Anko stomped her foot in the same place and the rumble increased. She then moved her foot and stabbed her kunai into the mud as hard as she could. Anko and Hakuna were thrown from the river onto the bank as a giant creature leaped out of the mud and into deeper waters.
Both of them rested on the bank staring after the creature.
Anko looked at Hakuna. "Are you alright?"
Hakuna grimaced. "I think so but my feet are killing me. I could not move them at all when I was in there."
Anko helped Hakuna to her feet, but he almost fell back down. "It would appear-I have much cramping from the ordeal."
Anko put Hakuna back onto the ground, careful not to stretch the glue too much.
"Hakuna I can see what I can do to fix your muscles. I am quite skilled at such matters." Hakuna nodded trying to ignore the pain. Anko again laid her hands on Hakuna's feet and began to rub the over tensed muscles. She tried at first not to enjoy it but within moments lost her resolve. Her feet not only looked perfect they felt it too. After she finished healing her muscles it was almost hard for her to release Hakuna's feet.
Hakuna examined her feet. "You are quite skilled at that. I feel no pain at all!" Anko blushed and Hakuna continued. "I owe you a debt." Hakuna reached for one of Anko's feet.
Anko gasped. "What are you doing? My feet were not hurt."
"I am sorry to offend. But surely your feet are tired from today, I only wish to try to repay this small debt."
Anko considered. "I guess, I guess I cannot turn down such an offer." Anko held back her true desire for the massage to happen. Hakuna massaged Anko's feet, she felt relaxed and peaceful, almost forgetting about the unyielding glue that they had to break somehow. Anko did not even notice herself fall asleep.
Anko awoke with a start and sat up. It was daytime. She quickly reached down and found Hakuna's hip still attached to her own. Hakuna was sitting up already and looking into the distance.
Anko looked at Hakuna "How long have you been awake?
"Awhile, I did not allow myself much sleep. I know of a man in a town close to here, he is a Master of Chemicals. He will be able to tell us with certainty what we are stuck with and likely be able to free us."
Anko looked back optimistically. "Great let’s get moving...where’s the rest of our stuff?"
"Lost I’m afraid. The creature returned and tried to find us. It could not reach us but got a hold of out other belongings. I would have tried to retrieve them, but our glue situation would have made it impossible for me to reach them in time, so I stayed put. I fear we must head to the town in what we have."
Anko looked at her bare feet not liking the idea of walking through the forest barefoot. "Oh well I guess there are worse problems that we’ve faced yesterday...or are still facing" Anko looked at the seemingly indestructible glue between them.
The two headed off toward the village. Eventually walking while stuck together became very easy, almost fluid. Before midafternoon they reached the village and went right to the mysterious chemist. He was intrigued by the substance.
He looked at them. "You two are really stuck! But have no fear I have all a hundred and twenty known glue solvents. As I don't know exactly what this glue is I'll have to start at solvent number one and work my way to one-twenty. The pair sat on stools and the chemist began to pour solvent after solvent on the glue. Solvent after solvent failed to make any reaction to the glue. Each failure made them lose a little bit of hope until solvent one hundred and twenty came up and also failed.
"Hmmm, this glue sure is strong.” The Chemist explained as he rubbed his head. “None of the standard solvents worked! We will have to try some more unorthodox methods." Tools were brought and seemingly half the village came out to try something, but blades dulled, brute strength failed, every strange idea no matter how clever could not snap the bond between the two ninjas. Eventually, after the villagers had all left the chemist stood, he stood up and looked at them. "I don't know what else to try...this stuff just not want to come off!"
Anko gulped and tried to form the question, but Hakuna beat her to it "Could it be that this is the ninja magic forged permanent glue I have heard about?"
The chemist put his hand to his chin. 'I didn't think of that. But I can find out." The chemist rummaged for a vile and held it up. "This chemical is made by the same people as the aforementioned eternal adhesive. I will pour it on the glue, if it turns blue it means its not eternal adhesive and well eventually find some way to break the glue. However, if it turns red it means the unthinkable...that it is what we fear it is."
Anko gulped. "Then let us hope for blue."
The chemist nodded and poured a generous splotch of the grey paste on the glue. "It will take a few seconds, but the change will be instantaneous when it happens."
Both Hakuna and Anko stared at the grey paste with uncanny intensity. Both were terrified of the paste turning red praying for blue.
“Please let it turn blue.” Anko chanted again and again.
The paste then instantly turned crimson red. No one spoke at first, all too afraid to give the reality mention. The chemist broke the silence. " I am afraid that is indeed eternal adhesive. I am sorry to tell you that the glue your stuck with is completely permanent. It can never be broken, it can never be dissolved nothing will ever get it to release you from each other. You two are stuck together forever. Nothing can ever reverse the simple fact that you two are stuck to each other for the rest of your lives."
Anko and Hakuna stared at each other in silence. Anko got to her feet and pulled Hakuna with her outside. She stared into Hakuna’s eyes. "This can't be happening...were...were."
Hakuna interrupted. "Were screwed."
Anko began to cry. "You got that right, completely fucking screwed! You and I are going to be fused like this for life! We can never get apart! What are we going to do?"
Hakuna was silent for several moments considering "There is nothing we can do; we have been told with concrete certainly that this is not at all reversable...ever! We have to learn to live together as that is what we will be doing until we die. We have no other choice. Adjusting to our new life is going to be hard. My association with my clan is over. They will have no use for me stuck like this! And I doubt you can continue your service of hidden leaf bound to another permanently!”
Anko paused..."We can go to the mountains, there are many small villages there. We can start a new life there. One where us being stuck forever as we are wont impede us. I don't know what we will be but it's all we can do."
Hakuna nodded. "Two people hopelessly stuck to another will not find an easy road, but it is the only road left open."
Anko hugged Hakuna closely and cried onto her shoulder. Hakuna began to cry as well, no longer caring about guarding her emotions. After several moments Anko got off Hakuna's shoulder and looked at her. Her safeguards gone she could not hold back and she kissed Hakuna. Hakuna, shocked could only return the kiss. Anko disengaged and looked at Hakuna again. I am sorry but there are feelings that have surfaced since we met yesterday I can't, under the circumstances hold them back any longer."
"But Anko..." Hakuna asked, coming to terms with her own feelings.
"Don't deny the possibility, your fucking stuck to me and I’m the only one you’ve got.” Anko began. “I am falling in love with you. I didn't want to but I did. The second I saw you I wanted you. I refused to even let myself consider the feelings I felt but they’re real and they’re not going away. Though I hate that were goddammed stuck like this I want to be with you! And if we can find something between us that links us together other than this fucking glue it just might make the rest of our lives a little less hopeless."
"Anko...I realized I loved you the second you tried to free me from the creature.” Hakuna explained. “We have a connection, and I don't mean the glue. You are someone that can actually return love to me. You are someone who literally cannot leave me behind. Our new life will be hard but we will face it together, not because we have to but because we want to."
Anko again kissed Hakuna but this time Hakuna returned it fully and they embraced and held each other until the sun set. The next day they would cease their lives as they knew it and forge a new one together.
