Went a little elaborate on this one, but really wanted to get it entirely in camera! Once I realized that the headlight holes were perfectly the size of little LED bulbs, it was clear that real fog would be needed, and it would be way too hard to fake the background after the fact behind the fog.
The sky is a drawn picture, cast to the TV screen. The castle is a very detailed and impressive aquarium piece. The midground and foreground land are wicker baskets smoothed over with a thin layer of foam (and the perfect road texture once painted!) with moss, "trees"/twigs, and carved foam and wire fences glued on. All the layers are at strangely different heights to line up and create the illusion of distance/depth. Then came the fog filling the whole house up, and snapping hundreds of pics to get one or two that looked right and weren't completely fog filled.
