Now here's another old one.. actually one of the first drawings that got me to put more effort into my sketches than simply doodling for doodling's sake. The Guardian's wolf head I'm not happy with, but the Redling's hawk head I'm very happy with. It's also the first time I really put any "research" into a drawing, which I do a lot now. For me, research is usually running a google search for photos (I don't feel right drawing off another drawing, unless it's for my own personal practice), and so I did that for the hawk's head and for the bodies (but I drew the wolf head before I even thought about doing research for it). These guys are two spirits from my RPG game, done completely in india ink (no pencil.. oy!).
