Ruin’s first mistake was to underestimate Hollow Forest.

They thought it’d be a simple short cut though and into Lilypad, where the room they were to stay at awaited them.

Their next mistake was to request directions from a shadowy passerby. Perhaps forgivable, due to how unfamiliar they were with the region and the dangers of the forest.

But then an unknown time later, Ruin found themselves in Lilypad, oblivious to the gap in their memory to how or when they had entered Lilypad or of their encounter with the creature in the forest.

It took Ruin several days to realize that they was something off about the static-y whispers in their head and that their shadow didn’t seem quite right.
