Description
The huge, white wolf watched as the hybrid left with her lunch. She hadn't had angel flesh in ages and that moron had to fuck it up. To make things worse, she now had to deal with her brother who now suffered several broken bones thanks to his stupidity. He had been rendered immobile. They couldn't stay here for long. If they could hunt here, so could others. She craned her head to look at the wolf twins, Takeo and Shizumi, gazing at them both for a time before beckoning the female, Shizumi, forward.*"Yes, M'Lady?"
She asked, her monotonous voice no more than a whisper, cocking her head to the right curiously which in turn revealed an old scar that started from her right brow all the way down to her front right leg. Yuki turned and led Shizumi to Zetsumei, who laid in the snow, bleeding pathetically as he emitted a mix of whines and growls.*
"Take him to the Nomad Camp's healer. Stay with him so he doesn't kill anyone."
The youngest and smallest wolf bowed her head, before taking Zets upon her back, his blood staining her snowy white pelt. She muttered something about needing a long dip in the lake after this as she took off towards the camp. She only hoped she didn't run into any demons who had a beef with Zetsumei. The idiot had quite a few. The remaining pair watched as the small one disappeared into the trees. With that sorted, Yuki turned her attention to another important matter.
"We must report this new development. He better have something for us to eat after all the shit I've dealt with today. I'm fucking hungry."
The wolf snarled while ranting, her hackles upright as she cantered into the trees with Takeo in tow. He, too, was hungry but knew better than to interrupt Alpha's rants. The hybrid was a fool. He stole the pack's food; in their minds, ally now owed them food; however, it was very unlikely he would replace it. So they would take whatever they could get from the king. Yuki quickened her pace to a full gallop. The male mimicked. With their speed, it would not be long before they'd reach the heart of the Fallen Lands, where the demon king resided.
The wolf pair ran until the castle was in sight. The majestic limestone building was truly a sight to behold. It beckoned them home like a moth to the flame. The wolves scanned the tallest towers, surveying the lush scenery that flowed naturally around them. Thick Cobblestone brick, miles into the sky, rose up into the clouds. Then beside the towers, the gate awaited. Steel spikes protruding it from it. Guards at each side. They'd await anyone who dared enter, but they couldn't see everything. Beyond the guards were several windows, to several chambers, including a tiny peephole for those in Dungeons. From the dungeons, the wolves could just hear the screams from within and could almost taste the blood oozing from the wounds of the tortured. The Demon King had always been the take no prisoner sort, but even he enjoyed the screams of agony. This place of such beauty was well made and presented itself as if built into the land, overlooking the mass of land below. It reeked of power and grace. To the wolves, it was nothing more than somewhere to find their next fresh meal. The wolves' stomachs growled in tune with their snarls, eyeing the guards keeping watch hungrily. If only they could, but this is not their domain and thus, they couldn’t do what they would normally do.
"Alpha, what do we tell him?"
The scarred, ebony wolf questioned, his baritone voice radiating through the air like a humming heater. The wolf's coffee colored gaze never leaving the front gates, his bat like ears swirling, listening to the slightest sound. Yuki rolled her eyes as she took the lead, heading down the path towards the front gates. The male growled in annoyance, hating that he was being ignored. Yuki growled a warning. This was no place for small talk.
"You keep silent unless spoken to."
She ordered, inwardly grinning when a look of slight panic and fear crossed the guards' features as they watched both the wolves approach the front gate. They weren't stupid. Anyone with any hint of intelligence could see that these wolves were hungry enough to eat anything that crossed them. They gave a moderate bow, giving the pair the respect that they deserved.
"I need to speak with Xavier."
"My apologies, Lady Yuki, and Master Takeo, but you know the rules. You both are to revert to your human forms before being granted entry."
The guard on the left explained, his tenor voice barely hiding his fear which it excited the wolves. The lupines' mouths began to salivate at the anticipation of a kill, but it was the quick thinking of the guard on the right which saved his companion. He hissed a warning to the other guard, then exposed his neck and the other guard followed suit. Yuki smirked, recognizing the submissive action. Takeo responded with a snort, rolling his eyes as he walked a few paces away from Yuki so he could morph. The charcoal wolf growled before transforming, his fur shifting into an elaborate red tunic with gold embroidery, with a plain red undershirt. He stood about 6'3. The pants he now sported was made from a decent quality fabric, black in color. He wore no shoes. He was a wolf demon after all; they weren't bothered by the cold. The warrior's hair dark brown in color, somewhat spiky but not overly done. The wolf's skin was tanned, his body muscular from years of training and battles. Instinctively, the male placed his left hand upon his weapon of choice, a katana which he had owned for several years now.
Takeo turned his gaze towards his alpha, who had begun her own transformation. It was always a beautiful sight to behold. The female pushed off the ground, standing on her hind legs temporarily, towering over the guards as she used her tail for balance. She chuckled as her body shifted, shrinking in height while her fur morphed into a beautiful white tunic with faded baby blue embroidery decorating it with a matching white undershirt. The woman's hair was a snowy white, reaching down to her ankles with ease. She had three beads in her hair on the right side of her head, with peach colored feathers attached to the beads. Unless Takeo, who had chosen decent quality fabric for his pants, she had chosen the expensive fabric. It appeared to be custom made as it had wolf designs instead of the traditional designs the rest of the Realm wore. She, too, wore no shoes. She placed her right hand on her hip, just inches away from her own sword, an old habit which may never die. Standing around 5'4, the guards towered over her yet they dared not challenge Xavier's favorite. Yuki's golden gaze shifted upwards to the guard, raising a brow and tapping her right foot impatiently, waiting for them to let them in.
"Welcome home, Lady Yuki and Master Takeo; you both shall be escorted to your rooms so you may bathe and eat. With all due respect, Master, you reek of Angel -"
"Know your -"
"Takeo!"
Yuki snapped at her beta, then eyed the guard on the right with narrowed eyes. The guard muttered an apology as he, along with the other guard, opened the front gates for the pair. Yuki rolled her eyes as she walked through the gates, her eyes briefly surveying the surroundings before focusing on the front door. They already had company. A small assembly of servants had gathered, their heads bowed in submission while they mumbled their greetings to the pair. Takeo grinned as he had spotted a few of his favorites within the bunch.
"Mika, Darling, be a dear and start a bath for me. Hotaru, dear, please bring my favorite dishes to my room along with herbal tea."
He commanded gently, adding a smile that was enough to make the women melt. The women quickly hurried off to meet their Master's requests. The pair could hear high pitched squeals coming from inside the castle walls, earning a sigh from Yuki. He had always been quite the charmer, even when his sister was there to supposedly keep him in line. Oh well, he'd keep himself busy. The alpha wolf fixed her gaze upon a few servants in the back of the group, nodding to each of them as she spoke.
"You, my bath. You, inform Xavier of -"
"He already knows, M'Lady. The entire castle knows of your glorious return. Word spreads like wildfire."
The servant boldly interrupted, her head bowed deeply. The others silently shuffled away from her, fearing for their own safety. Takeo facepalmed before taking his place beside his alpha. He could tell the girl was new and hadn't learned the rules, especially when it came to dealing with Yuki. The white wolf raised a brow, unaccustomed to interruption. Yuki ran her claws through her long silver mane, a sigh escaping her lips as she closed her eyes for a moment. Takeo blinked and Yuki was gone. The frightened screams brought his focus center stage, the sight of the servants scattering for cover caused a frown upon his features. Yuki had the servant's neck within her right hand, claws digging into her flesh while she cried out in pain. Blood oozing from the punctures, Yuki's claws digging deeper as the servant continued to struggle for air. Yuki smirked as she brought her prey eye level. The scent of fear increased dramatically, causing Yuki to raise a brow. The gasping and choking from her would be prey, along with the scent of the servants blood was enough to send both wolves into a frenzy... if they were lesser demons of course. Several moments passed before Yuki deemed it fit to release the fool, tossing her into the nearest wall without a care. The servants instinctively flinched as a loud thud was heard. The servant had been rendered unconscious, bleeding from her ears and from the wounds on her neck. The snow was painted a lovely red soon after.
"Clean that up."
Yuki barked, proceeding inside without even so much as feeling remorse for what she had just done. The servants gazed towards Takeo with a deer-in-the-headlights expression. Takao was known as one of the best warriors, but even he had a softer side and enjoyed the company of the ladies. He gave them a sympathetic look as they hurried to the return to their posts while some gathered to help their fallen friend. The female would live; everyone released a breath of relief to know this was but a warning. Takeo took his leave, returning to his place beside his Alpha. The servants wisely avoided eye contact with the white wolf, parting like the Red Sea, as the pair headed to the Throne Room. When they finally arrived, a servant announced them and granted them entry. The smell of blood and fear had the Wolves' mouths watering and their blood singing for their next kill, but they held their composure. It wouldn’t do to revert to Beasts here. The room was simple if you can call a room decorated with the bones and hides of the fallen simple. The floor was barren with the exception of the occasional blood stain. The drapes and curtains were dark colored - purples, blues, reds, and black. Xavier, The Demon King, sat on his throne with mild interest as he looked upon the pair. The blacked winged terror had donned a dark green tunic and black pants, his feet bare as a newborn. He stood to greet them, as was the Demon Custom, beckoning them forward with a clawed hand. The pair stayed silent with their heads held high, eyes never leaving their Leader's gaze. Xavier's purple gaze fell up Yuki's face with a small smirk - a greeting. Yuki simply nodded her head before the pair bowed before him, lowering their gaze to the floor.
"What do you have to.... report?"
He drawled, his voice deep yet commanding, lowering his gaze to examine his nails which caused Yuki to roll her eyes as they lifted their gaze at his words. The room was rendered silent; no one bothered to even breathe. Xavier raised his gaze to examine the pair and finally turned his gaze upon Takeo. He motioned the male to speak before he rested his head upon his left hand which rested upon the throne chair's armrest. Yuki sent a glare her beta's way - a warning not to mention Zetsumei. Xavier caught this, but it was interpreted it as impatience.
"All is well. The tribes are gathering for the battle ahead. We should be ready to attack within two weeks. The Angels are preparing a defense, but it is lacking. However, the weather is conspiring against us; the fog and heavy winds are moving in. My Lord, I humbly suggest you allow the most experienced warriors within our Tribe to lead the offense. We do not require our sight to fight as some of the other species."
'Your request is noted. You are dismissed, Takeo.'
"My Lord."
Takeo gave a deep bow before he left, eyeing his Alpha with a curious look before leaving the room. Yuki could hear the shuffling of feathers and the sounds of footsteps as Xavier rose from his place and drew closer to her. A bored look was upon his features, his gaze lowered to meet that of Yuki's. He admitted a growl from his throat, a signal for her to rise and match his gaze. She did so with her emotionless mask in place, focusing her gaze upon his jagged scar that ran from his chin up to his ear and into his hairline. Xavier's expression turned to one of amusement, as he could tell his Second had something on her mind. This should prove entertaining....
'Yugami... why does the stench of Angel cling to you...? Happy hunting?'
He purred in her ear with a sinful smirk, lowering his 6`6 stature to her level as he did so, knowing it would provoke a response from his aggressive General. The once emotionless wolf morphed into a wild wolf, her anger being triggered by the memory of the lost kill. She inwardly cursed herself, scolding herself for allowing her Lord to get her so worked up. She peeled her lips back in a silent snarl, her Lord chuckling darkly as he pulled back to meet her gaze.
"It would have been a good hunt if that bastard half-breed Alvaned hadn’t interfered!"
'Oh...? Tell me about my boy...'
"He. Fucked. My. Lunch. Do you really think I'm going to eat it now?!"
Yuko whined as Xavier's eyes narrowed, his left hand suddenly grabbing Yuki's long mane with such force that it caused her to yelp. The angered wolf snarled in protest, to which he responded to by tightening his grip, causing her to hiss in pain - a reminder that he was Alpha.
'What do you mean... he fucked your lunch...?'
"Exactly what I said!"
She snarled, slashing at his hand with her claws which caused him to release her. He raised a brow while bringing her hand up to eye level, examining the blood that flowed down from the wound she inflicted. He ran his tongue over the wound, his saliva healing it quickly. She bared her fangs at him, pacing the floor while Xavier raised a brow, examining his General's behavior with great amusement. Alvaned was her pet and therefore, hers to defend and hers to punish. For her to be this worked up over a lost meal...
'Surely... a lowly Angel wouldn’t have you this riled up...-'
"It's the fucking Princess you ass! Her blood was singing to me, but no! Chicken Boy had to ruin it!"
She interrupted, much to Xavier's displeasure. He raised a brow as he watched his wolf general rant and rave about her ruined meal, displaying all sorts of emotions that was quite uncommon for the demoness. He released an uncharacteristic sigh, which brought back Yuki's focus to him. She eyed him with a glare he found distasteful, earning her a spot on the stone cold ground after he slapped with enough force to send her to the ground.
'WHY DONT YOU BOW?!'
He roared, his violet eyes earning themselves a hint of red while he flared his wings in anger. Yuki wanted nothing more than to strangle him at that moment. He offered the Pack sanctuary; however, the shit she had to deal with in exchange for it was beneath her. She didn't have to deal with this with Golden Boy. Then again, that fool was just that: a fool. She slowly picked herself up and bowed low, earning a pleased hum from Xavier.
'Better... Alvaned still holds his alliances in limbo... and yet he is now bound to the Princess... how interesting... rise love....'
"How is it interesting that he fucked my lunch?! Perhaps you're unaware but life outside these castle walls doesn't come with servants!"
She screeched, baring her fangs while she quickly rose and dusted herself off. Xavier's mood swings were just one of many things that came with the sanctuary he offered to them in exchange for services. She had to remind herself quite often not to allow her temper to overrule her completely.
'Temper Temper, my dear.... stay close to her... be my eyes and ears...'
The male purred while encircling his wings around the angered wolf - an act of claiming. The wolf snarled in response, earning herself a dark chuckle as he coiled his arms loosely around her shoulders. As far as Xavier was concerned, Yugami was his and his alone - that was the only reason she was allowed to speak so freely. Yuki rolled her eyes and sighed, as she was aware that this was his way of showing his concern as well as marking her as his yet again.
"My Lord, I've explained to you already that my customs do not allow me to act so freely. You don't know what you're wishing to get into..."
'That... does not... matter to me.'
He replied with a nip to her right furry ear, while his arms moved south to encircle her small waist, to prove his point. Yuki bit her tongue to keep herself from responding, choosing to glare at him instead. She was hungry and in no mood for games. It was getting to the point where anything that moved would be considered a potential food source. Xavier could see this plainly; the predator before him was deadly and merciless. She would make an excellent Queen.
'Perhaps a hunt... is in order?'
He drawled, his right arm releasing her waist to cup her chin and lift it toward his gaze. He moistened his lips, moving his tongue over them slowly - an act that caused Yuki to roll her eyes. He was trying to tease her... but it wouldn't work. Not now when she was starving.
"A hunt would be perfect."
She responded, her gaze turning absolutely murderous, earning herself a dark laugh from her King as he released her. Yuki never failed to provide entertainment. Xavier ordered a servant to inform the guards to release a prisoner into the forest. It took but a few minutes before the servant returned to inform him the deed was done. He dismissed the lowly servant with a flick of a wrist, turning his gaze back to his Chosen One.
'Happy hunting...'
Xavier blinked and she was gone. The hunt had begun.
