Description
"Oi, Furball, are you coming or not?"The Halfling known as Alvand called out to the majestic beast laying in the snow as he approached. The beast's erect ears twitched in his direction, signaling acknowledgement, but didn't open her eyes as she was content where she was.
"Oi! The Princess -"
"I answer to none. I am no one's lapdog. Be gone before I crush your skull like a grape within my jaws."
Yuki snarled as she opened her amber colored eyes, her lip curling back to reveal her deadly pearly whites. She glared at the half-breed, questioning herself as to why she had put up with him for so long.
"Mother!"
And then she was reminded as her own half-breed daughter came running out of the cave. The teenage girl had taken a liking to the boy, sort of a mentor relationship. Halflings were not accepted by either of their races; they often found solace within one another, as friends and sometimes more. The teen smiled brightly at Alvand, who returned it kindly.
"Mother, could we go please?"
"You heard us."
Yuki said, a slight annoyance within her tone. It wasn't a question, but a statement. The teen only nodded, knowing her mother was pissed at her mentor's behavior. In all honesty, she was surprised he wasn't dead yet.
"The villagers are fearful... As they should be. The angels want us dead. Do tell me why it is a good idea to go?"
Yuki growled, her voiced laced with sarcasm; she knew where this was going.
"I want to see Max. She... Accepts me for me. She's a good angel and a good friend. Please, Alpha, reconsider. I promise I'll stay close."
The wolf girl pleaded, her tone understanding with a hint of sadness. How could they change minds if they stayed hidden? Risks had to be taken. The teen smiled as she watched her mother rise from the snow and start to walk in the direction of the village. She paused only once, glancing at her child, who took it as permission to climb abroad her back. It was a lengthy walk down the mountain anyway. The girl mounted her mother, her hands gripping the beautiful Snow White fur while her legs hugged her mother's ribs. Yuki continued to walk after Tikoto settled in. Alvand grinned as the scene unfolded. He couldn't resist getting another jab at his own friend.
"No one's lapdog, eh?"
He teased.
"Be silent before I rip off your wings and beat you with them."
