It's about time someone came up with a new idea for April (psionic abilities) and not becoming a Ninja (over night) and having a genetic lineage to a descendent of the malevolent sorceress... oh god... t's been overused way too much. And the 80's April having a thing for the 80's Casey Jones is also an original idea.

The 80s cartoon April is only one of two versions (the other being the 90s film version) that was actually normal, she had to rely more on her natural abilities, she had limitations and didn't depend on convenient powers to make her useful.

Hey, I really like the story pitch and the poster look. I've always found the idea of April with super powers much more interesting than the April as a Ninja Master angle so often rehashed in TMNT stories. Her psionic eye does look a little bit Psylocke-ish. Cool Casey Jones necklace but is there any significance to the bloody bandana on her arm?

OLDMANWINTERS:

Thanks. I didn't even think about Psylocke when drawing. That's a legitimate comparison. Regarding the bandana; it was originally red as a throwback to the turtles' original headbands. Currently, it's just a composition element. An expansion on the story could give it significance. But, this design's a one-off pitch…
