He is a half-serpent of the naga race, left behind in the industrial human world after The Great Sealing supposedly locked away mythic and supernatural creatures in the rift between dimensions. While he tries to keep a low profile, the shrewd merchant always had an eye for business ventures. His knowledge of the mystical world is now an invaluable commodity. Copperhead is known as "Doctor Auric", a respectable antiques dealer and historian, to the general public; but underworld connections know the conniving fence by his true name.

Copperhead has an arrangement with local treasure hunter Rickya Itazura, where he provides shelter and work for the bandit. Their partnership is rather strained. Ricky's less-than-stealthy exploits sometimes threaten to draw unwanted attention. Their agreement is often renegotiated and enforced through the naga's subtle hypnosis and threats of poisoning. It's not clear if the snake man actually has a venomous bite or not - and he'll never tell of course. There are many tools at his disposal when it comes to making deals, and ambiguity is his best friend.

He presents a shrewd and unflappable demeanor; but truth be told he's a coward at heart. There are those who see through his thinly veiled threats and theatrics - another reason to keep a werefox bodyguard handy...
