History
Bruin and Odeta were a pair of loners who met along the open road and ended up travelling together after befriending one another. Throughout their journey, they would protect and hunt for the other, growing closer and closer by the day. Soon enough, they would become so closer that they would decide that while they enjoyed travelling together, they wanted to settle down and start families of their own.
Knowing that they wouldn't go anywhere in the world without each other, the pair decided to do just that; Odeta would eventually give birth to a single she-kitten, whom they named Inky, in a hollowed-out tree trunk, which would become their home for the time being.
As Inky reached her second moon, Odeta would tell Inky to never, ever go outside without either Bruin or Odeta. The world was a cruel one and the new mother did not want thon daughter to experience the dangers she would face if and when they had to move just yet.
Inky's lack of listening would, however, get the better of her, causing her to wander out of the makeshift den while her parents were both asleep.

Realising she had ventured too far, she tried to go back the way she came to no avail. Eventually, the now distressed and hungry kitten stumbles across a cat that looked ever-so-vaguely like her mother. To the kitten's surprise, this cat was not her mother but was a tom named Leechmask. Seeing the lonesome kitten, he asked where her parents were, Inky would ask if he could help her look for them. Leechmask, of course, obliged.
Directed by Inky, the pair arrived at what Inky thought was were thon family had been residing - a hollowed-out tree trunk - only to find it empty and untouched. Maybe they just got the wrong one? They must have...her parents wouldn't just up and leave her! Right...?
As they searched tree after tree after tree, Inky more observant of each content of each tree, until one of the trees solidified Inky's inference;
Either, her family had up and left her...or...something terrible had happened.
Urging Inky away from the scene, Leechmask explained to the she-kitten that her parents likely didn't want to leave her, having inferred as such from the state of the former resting place.

Inky would be at a neutral state, thinking that this was a good time for Inky to live by her own, but Leechmask would think otherwise, and Inky would tell him that tho need no more help; only for him to say; No. Tho needs a family for her kithood. Inky would hesitantly accept his offer of her living with him, and returned to Monarchclan.

Leechmask would rename thon Daylightkit, despite thon countless protests and sayings, that tho would like to keep thon old name, even if it would be used as thon prefix. she hated the name Daylightkit, even though everyone else would call her as Daylightkit. Tho would try and ask to be called Inkykit instead, but no avail. she grew bitter and snarkier. she hoped that one day, the rest of her clan would realize . . .
