Oakpaw has his whole apprenticeship to himself in the clan, he meets Bluepaw, later Bluefur, and, eventually, Bluestar. Bluepaw and Oakpaw had their apprenticeship to each other, but Oakpaw grew up in life without Crookedkit, as, unbeknownst to him, have gone into the backrooms, and in Level Fun

As a warrior, Oakheart was devoted to making his clan thrive after the Crookedkit incident, and was rewarded with mentoring Loudpaw, who became Loudbelly. When a group of rats up to no good attacked Riverclan camp, Oakheart was there to chase them away. Unfortunately, Hailstar perished fron the attack, leaving Shellheart to take his place as Shellstar, and Shellstar decided to appoint Oakheart as deputy, and make Loudpaw a warrior as Loudbelly.

Eventually, Shellstar perished too, from stomach cancer. Oakheart was left as Oakstar in his place, however, as leader, he also became mates with Bluefur, now Bluestar, and fathered her kits; Mosskit, Mistykit, and Stonekit.
