Description As the Germans celebrated their conquest of Moscow, the IJA (Imperial Japanese Army) defeated Soviet resistance in Novosibirsk and was slowly but steadily moving towards Omsk. With its supply lines near the breaking point and wanting to end the war in the East, German and Japanese diplomats met on the 23rd of february, 1946 on the recently surrendered city of Perm to negotiate the so-called 'Soviet partition'. A straight demarcation line was drawn effectively splitting the USSR in half, granting the German Reich the European part of the Soviet Union and the western half of 'Turkistan' (Turkmenistan) and Kazahkstan; in the East Japan got Siberia, the rest of Central Asia and the ports on the Far East.

However, this partition soon turned out to be unsatisfactory and problematic: the Japanese soon found themselves with an enormous lack of manpower (since the IJA was mainly focused on China and south-east Asia) and so being almost unable to effectively rule the vast Siberian lands and the Central Asian steppes; on the other side, the R.K. (reichkommisariats) in the FSU (former Soviet Union) were usual victims of terror attacks, partisan activity and severe problems of corruption and mismanagement. With both powers unable to control de facto their new territories, tensions are rising between Tokyo and Berlin, disputing the partition and with very frequent border crossings to each other domains.
