Well, I've been playing lots of Super Paper Mario ever since I got it alongside my Wii, and it has been a very, very fine reminder of just how much I love the Paper Mario series, and similarly many of the characters. I was thinking of using a more simply designed character with which I could get some WG drawing practice in, and Vivian came to mind XDI know Vivian is a male in the Japanese version, so don't blow a gasket over that if need be. If you want Vivian to be male in this pic go for it yo, more power to you. But otherwise, we live in AMERICA and we don't speak that there moonspeak, so Vivian is female XD
Anyway, enjoy and expect more soon now that I'm on break and have a tiny bit more privacy than usual.

There goes her leg...tail...ghost... thingy, it's also going to leave one hell of a large shadow when she pulls Mario under, not to mention suffocation.

Yeah, her sort of... whatever the hell it is is sort of blocked/absorbed by her belly. Or something. There is very complicated logistics at works.
And mind you, we have to consider whether or not Vivian can even fit into the shadows anymore. She might get stuck trying to duck away. THough of course now she can just be used to bounce attacks back at the enemies so she still has some hella defense capabitlies.

Technically, Vivian's gender was never specified in the Japanese version--they left it completely unclear.

I've heard like so many conflicting ideas about Vivian's gender in regards to the Japanese games that I've just about given up on it.
"Vivian is male!" "No, they only say that Vivian is male, when in fact-" "Looks at the instruciton manual!" "Well, they use this pronoun to describe Vivian and in Japanese..."
If only it was based in Spanish, that would save us all a lot of trouble XD
