I doodled up a really bad picture But I had to draw and upload something about these two. I already support them. I'm one of THOSE people >_<(The entire picture concept and pose is from this anime couple pic I found on google on my ipad, but I don't have the picture on here to give the link. Just know= poses not my idea)
Lol until I find an "official" name, my friends and I came up with and have been referring to this as sequelshipping. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Uh....am not familuar with the term Sequelshipping...what is that?
I find it interesting folks have been pairing the new female trainer with the rival. I always seen the rival as not having any relationship, other then being rivals, to the main protagonist. Even with Wally, Barry and Cheren/Bianca, there has been no relationship, just friendly rivalry.
Still a cool picture...I personally love the new female trainer....really cute, like Leaf, May, Dawn and lyra/Kris, but looks older, like with Hilda.

You know how pairings have names... like Pokeshipping, Contestshipping, or Ferriswheelshipping? Until this one found a name, my friends and I decided to refer to it as sequelshipping. Just a random name XD
I respect that XD I like that idea too, honestly. The we-don't-have-a-relationship-just-battle-me. It fits Silver a lot especially. But usually they're friends, and there's some hint of that friendship. Like Red and Gary, they were childhood friends/rivals for 10 years... there must be some relationship (I don't mean necessarily romantic) there. Same with Cheren/Bianca and Black/White to me, and Barry/Dawn. That's just my opinion though

Yeah, other then Silver (since he was a big jerk), each had a friendly rivalry (I forgot about Red and Blue when I replies) Gen 1 and Gen 5 had your childhood friends/rivals, and never played Gen 3, so don't know how it played out. With Gen 4, I never played Pearl/Diamond either. In fact, I stopped after Crystal...I got back into the franchise with Pokemon Platinum after renting Pearl (or Diamond, can't recall which) and it seemed quite different then the one I played, so I don't know how the rival/player relation went.
With Gen 5, if there was a close relationship, I always thought, since when they were revealed, that Hilda had a connection to Cheren and Hilbert to Bianca. Like no matter who you picked, there was a rival of the opposite gender. Same with what I had thought of Gen 3. The other trainer, the one you don't pick, would become your other rival...and think Brendan and May were childhood friends as well, plus you had Wally as a rival as well (looked the rival list on Bulbapedia)
Yeah, think I like her over all female trainers (Liked Hilda the best before that) I am just waiting for the Princess Leia references to pop up in the artwork. I myself just found the official art (with white background and full body)which been waiting for. I just been re-inking the official artwork (started with Brendan/May, and got into doing them all), and plan to do them next as well as each of the rivals. Then will try to do original art of her as well.

Oh XD Well, shipping refers to the pairing of characters. Like the romantic relationship between them. Pokeshipping is the romantic relationship between Ash and Misty, for example.
Regardless of whether you pick Black or White, you have the same relationship with Cheren or Bianca. I mean, it doesn't change in-game based on your gender. Unless you're stating what you think it's like, not canonically. May and Brendan weren't childhood friends
I like her design a lot too. I think May has my favorite outfits, but she's closely followed by White and this new girl (probably this one before White). Blue comes after, then Dawn and Kotone and finally Crys (didn't like her outfit at all).

What I meant by the relationships in Black/White was....before the game came out and full details, I had a feeling Cheren and Bianca were friends/rivals, but thought that there was connection between Cheren and the female trainer and Bianca and the male trainer. That's before I found out that only one of the trainers exist, and both Cheren and Bianca are friends/rivals (which I had a feeling about), but there was no relationship. Yeah, Cheren is you serious rival, like in past games...while Bianca was abit flaky, but only traveled for fun and doesn't seem to share the same goal as the player and Cheren. You sure about Brendan/May? I could have sworn I played the game (got Emerald eventually) that when you pick the trainer you want, your mother mentions the trainer you don't pick and how you grew up together, and He/She has a Maril.
Hmm...Now that I think about it, perhaps that's Gold/Silver, because I think both player trainers (Ethan/Lyra(And assume Kris)) co-exist in the same game as well. I just thought of that as I recall I have Soul Silver and think I chose the female trainer in that game (I alternate genders in each game I get)...yeah, I think so now I got the games mixed up again. Like I said, Gen 3 is a near mystery to me, and abit the same for Gen 4.
For the female trainers, I like the new Black/White trainer...as well as Hilda, and think a toss-up between Leaf and Dawn. May does have a great design, and liked her too. For the Male trainers, Red and Hilbert are my fave two designs, And then Lucas, and the one (think the original design) design of Brendan.
You mentioned Blue...Which game she from? The only character from the game series named Blue that I'm aware of, is the rival for Red, and is Prof. Oak's grandson. I definitely know this, as I was grabbing images of each Rival for each game of Bulbapedia, his name is Blue. When they added the female trainer in FireRed/LeafGreen, they named her Leaf. [link]

XD You're thinking of Heart Gold/Soul Silver, I think. Not sure if May did have a Marill, but Lyra does in Soul Silver. In Ruby/Sapphire, you just moved to Littleroot town from Johto I think. And you meet May for the first time as your neighbor.
For the male trainers, I like Red's and Black's the most too. Then Brendan I think, and.. whoever else after that lol.
By Blue, I meant Leaf, sorry XD I call her Blue. In the manga, they call that girl Blue and the rival boy Green in the Japanese version, which is what I was used to.

Ah, ok, yeah I should have guessed....heard they were named differently. Find it confusing where each character seems to have a number of names, pending on the source (Anime, manga or game)

XD It is a bit confusing. That's why I tend to group my characters. I don't separate Blue and Leaf much. Same with Red and Fire Red and others.

Ohh. Hmm, hopefully it gets it. I really like the sound of that. Frozenlandshipping. It sounds fancy. ~elmocrazy also suggested visorshipping... but that doesn't sound as fancy, though I think it makes a decent second choice.

I've never seen a voting unless there's two or more options that are really popular. I think that happened with FWS. But I'm personally cool with sequelshipping, specially now that I've seen the BW2 game intro. Rival seems to be really important, so if Hilda and N can get away with FWS, why can't Sparkle and Rival with Sequelshipping?

Yeah. That's what I was kinda worried(?) about when trying to think of a name, since it seems like it would fit the two protag better more. Same with Ferriswheel (I mean, Black rides the ferriswheel too, but he got the shorter end of the stick). But that's true, if he's important it shouldn't matter.... I had no idea there was an intro though. Just saw it now that you mentioned it and I'm even more excited for the game *o* Are those new starters?

Yeah, but atleast it's a good and easy name to remember. I'm yet to jump on either bandwagon for this pairing. But I'm atleast warming up to the rival now that I learned he apparently has a little sister he cares about alot. It's emotional things like this that drive me to like certain pairings. So I may end up having a reason to like Sequel in a similar vein to Ferris.
Same starters actually. Hopefully they have their DW abilities this time around to make things somewhat different.

I'm one of those "do they look good together? OKAY. Find reasons afterwards to support them and why they would work together" people sometimes. It was like that for FWS. All the fanart got to me before I could even really get far in the game.

Have I said "ZOMG THIS IS THE BEST PAIRING EVURRR"? No. They seem like they would be cute. I typically like the rivals and the girls together. I think they would look good together. I like drawing pictures of it. It's that simple.

Pardon me, but actually I'm just testing you. I'm right now do research about humans behaviour & it's an 'art'-related research, which include the motivation of person behind it : why they did it and how these kind of works will effect the mass. And my study case is the popular franchise Pokemon.
And for your answer...quite interesting, yet I found it's a typical answer of those who called themselves "shippers" out there as a self-preservation.

Can you tell me about your overall findings then?
I don't think it's a shipper thing, though. I think it's a general human thing, to defend yourself. There are usually two ways that that's done, right? One is calmly and another is biting back. I think most shippers you've talked to are probably just trying to calmly explain themselves to you.

Sorry, but the observatory research haven't be done yet by now and doubt it will openly announce by us. But maybe someday I will have permission to 'leak' some of the result here in my deviantart in an article with an art related to it.
And about it will have potential to causing any problem or not, well...We'll see what's the result says.
