If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Over the years, I've grown distant from many friends, including multiple "best" friends. Some former friends, at least four, have even blocked me on social media. It seems the main reason I've lost them is that they went liberal, while I still hold Christian beliefs and also value freedom. If I do manage to avoid politics with them, they seem to have trouble being friends just because they know who I am, and as political as everything is nowadays, it's hard to even discuss a TV show without politics coming up. (One former "friend" blocked me because of something related to Captain Marvel.)
Even when I do manage to keep contact with them, we can't be close because we're on opposing sides when it comes to many moral/political issues. Their views change, while mine stay the same, so I get left behind. The latest droves of friends who have pulled away have been the ones who want to force vaccines, lockdowns, and masks, but I lose others for my belief that sex is something that should only happen between a man married to a woman.
Sometimes, it feels like I'm in a zombie apocalypse, watching people get bitten and change into something so unlike what they used to be.

EDIT to add: The flames are not depicting Hell. They're just flames because flames are dramatic and maybe they just symbolize the destruction of friendships.
