Born and raised within the walls of Peña Duro prison, the man known as Bane is a dangerous international criminal whose main goal in life is to find a strong rival. In addition to physical strength and intelligence at the peak of human capabilities, Bane also possesses the experimental military steroid Venom, which increases his strength beyond human measures. He arrives in Gotham, inspired by the stories of the Dark Knight who keeps the entire underworld at bay, and intends to challenge and defeat him.
