Description
So this is the start of my Empress card for the Tarot deck I'm designing. The deck is based on Appalachia and the South. So here we just have a well dressed woman in a fertile valley. The empress card is usually shows a matriarchal woman. I chose to focus on her fertility as evidenced by the field and the blossoms on the border. The field is not own with crop because I wanted it not to look like the land had been cultivated. In Appalachia flat land is the most expensive and best land land, so the fact that she is in a valley shows that she is wealthy. I also want her to look like may be in a very early phase of pregnancy. Anyway this is just the first step of the card. The border is cotton blossoms.
