So I think I have finally figured out how to get Blender to work!
TL;DR - you can use a "green screen", to crop out your foreground. You just need a volunteer, a green blanket in the background - so I was able to crop out the feet that way.
The monster I'm still struggling with -- this is by far the laziest solution. Would love to have something gooey with saliva everywhere. Put in the comments if you have a favorite monster configuration in Blender (that is animate-able? )
