Description Ch. 1
Fourteen years passed peacefully in the fox village. Mora grew up to be a stunning vixen with eyes greener then emeralds and fur like amber. As she grew, she also became close friends with Zircal and Anak. She considered them almost family. One day she was with Anak, learning about healing herbs when suddenly there was a scream from the square.
“WOLVES! The wolves are attacking!!!” Mora and Anak leapt up and ran out of the hut.
“You find Zircal, I’ll find my dad!” Mora shouted to Anak. Anak nodded and raced off to find her son. She had just gotten out of sight when Mora was grabbed from behind by a wolf. She could smell his rank breath as he whispered,
“Say one word and I’ll slit your pretty neck.” Filled with rage Mora kicked out behind her, catching the wolf in the gut. He grunted and doubled up. Mora saw her chance and dealt the wolf a fierce uppercut to the jaw. The wolf fell back unconscious. Rubbing her knuckles She said to herself,
“Note to self; That move really works!” She turned around and saw her father fighting with the wolf king. There was a wolf sneaking up behind Firefur, ready to stab him at the king’s command. Blinded by fear for her father, she grabbed the dagger off the belt of the wolf she had knocked out, ran up to the sneaky wolf and slit his throat with one slice. Ekar saw this and shouted to his warriors
“Retreat! Retreat I say!” And with that they fled, leaving behind no trace of their visit. Mora just stood there, staring at her paws covered in the wolf’s blood. With a look of shock and horror on her face she said
“I just killed a wolf! And what’s  worse, I liked it!” then she fell over in a dead faint. Firefur looked shocked for a moment, then picked up his daughter and carried her to her room, lay her down on the bed, and without a word left the room.
Mora awoke, hours later, to her mother’s voice,
“YOU WANT TO DO WHAT!?” Mora recognized fathers voice next.
“Train her. I know she can fight, you should have seen her tonight! She killed one, knocked out another, and scared off the wolf king!”
“But she’s just a young girl! And warriors get killed! I don’t want to lose our daughter. Do you?”
“No, but I know she would be a magnificent warrior if I could train her!”
Mora crept out of bed and opened the door. When her parents saw her, they immediately quit fighting and went silent.
“Papa, I heard everything. Mama, I know you’re scared I’ll get hurt or something, but papa is right, I could be a fighter if I try. And I’m willing to work for it.” Bloodfur stood there, looking shocked at first, but then smiled and hugged her daughter, saying
“If you want to do this, that there’s nothing I can do to stop you. Just promise that you will be careful. Promise me this Mora.” Mora looked into her mother’s eyes. They were full of worry, sadness and fear.
“I promise mama.”  She pulled away from her mothers hug. “I’ll be fine mama, you’ll see.” Firefur stepped up and said,
“Trust me love, Mora will be are finest warrior. Won’t you sweetie?”
“You bet papa! No one attacks our village and gets away with it” Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Bloodfur went to answer it and found a bedraggled Anak standing there with Zircal. Mora rushed to the door.
“Anak! Zircal! Are you okay? Are you hurt?” She asked. Zircal held up a paw to stem the flow of questions.
“Mora, we’re fine. We wanted to see how you were doing.” he said. Mora smiled and replied,
“Oh I’m just great, Zircal!” Anak stepped up, looking a little apprehensive.
“ Is it true that you killed a wolf Milady?” Mora smiled and said.
“ Yep. Hey don’t look so surprised! That’s just one less wolf to worry about.” Zircal looked shocked, as did Anak.
“ Lady Mora, are you feeling okay? Normally, you can’t even stand killing for food, let alone killing like a warrior.” Anak said. Mora waved the enquiry away like a fly.
“Oh, I’m fine. I just realized that if I’m going to be a warrior, I have to stop being such a wimp about killing.” Zircal’s mouth dropped to the floor.
     “A warrior? You? Seriously?”
“Of course!” Mora replied. Zircal had a look of pure admiration on his face.
“Wow, I wish I could be a warrior too.” Firefur chuckled and said,
“Who says you can’t? You’re the right age to start training. If it’s okay with your mother of course.” Zircal looked to Anak hopefully. She smiled and nodded. The two friends leapt up with a wild whoop of joy.
“Yeah! We’re going to be fighters! Whoopee!” Though their joy was short lived as Lord Firefur said,
“Now hold your horses you two, Being a warrior isn’t all fun and games you know. It’s a lot of hard work too.” The young foxes looked dejected for a moment. Then Mora jumped up and shouted
“We can do it Papa! We don’t care how long it takes, do we Zircal?” Zircal nodded heartily. The adults in the room smiled.
“Well, you best get some sleep. You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow.” Firefur said. And the two foxes went off to their beds, dreaming of fighting in battle
