With the Z map

I used the z mapping output from Vue to split the image into 3 layers. Just have to open the z-map as a layer, threshold the z-map layer to what you want to mask. Duplicate the base image, add alpha channels as necessary. Apply the threshold'd layer as a layer mask. If you don't know how to do the former, selecting the white at the threshold by color then clearing the layer works too, but doesn't let you tweak it afterwards.
