Reticulated giraffe (aka Somali giraffe) brunching on food - Safari Park (Wild Animal Park), CAOne way I could tell apart reticulated from Masai giraffes are the different patterns featured on each species' coat. The reticulated ones have solid light brown shapes, while the Masai species shows sharp, acacia thorn-shaped white streaks that bleed onto its dark brown pattern.
