Nice idea, but there are some things that i don't like.
The gradient is not smooth. You can see the transitions from shade to another. Also it would be better if you'd place the smoky swirl to the right side. Perhaps the gradient should be a bit lighter. There are also some compression artifacts (too high jpeg compression ratio) visible around the swirl. Resolution could be larger (1600by1200 or 1280by960)
