Description
I did a belly expansion source elimination bracket and decided on "liquid battery". Not corrosive like battery acid, but just a liquid substance in the belly and curves that expands when energy is channeled through it. The difference between a liquid heated to boiling point and this fluid is that it does not change the phase of the substance, meaning that will have the same weight, but feel the same to the touch at increased size. These phase-maintaining expansive substances come in a variety of materials such as metals, stones, oils, and even biological material like wood or muscle tissue. So, it has the benefit, usually, of maintaining the integrity of smaller objects at larger sizes.
Yeah, I'm toying around with the idea, but if it hasn't been picked up by a novel agency, it should be and probably by someone other than me. I'd try to explain why a giant mechs, mutants, and shapeshifters don't collapse on themselves when bulked up and then I'd always be tempted to add someone like Djerada in the mix and the thing I hear about writing is that if you can write the story without something and the story does not suffer, than do without that something.
I know, if the belly indicates how much power is being used, it would be a benefit to the reader to show or write how big she is. There's a perfect reason to include her as is, if not just for style and theme. Well, sure, that's true, but I don't have a plot. Every time I read a book and it ends, I feel my enjoyment fall flat. I probably should learn to recognize a coming climax and get hyped, but even then I always wonder what cool thing will come after that.
If I did a story, I'd do isolated episodes of cool things happening, like a monster hunter staking a coven of serial killing vampires or a monster hunter proving he can ride a dragon on a bet or a monster hunter trying to live down the time he got beat by a bunch of flowers. Never would the monster hunter change age or lose a loved one forever for drama. He'd just keep going on hilarious, awesome adventures.
In conclusion, I maybe, might, someday, possibly, seriously consider doing a webcomic.
Oh yeah, about Djerada. Djerada is professor a Vundo University, a college for psychics and magic users. She loves reshaping landscapes with her power and blowing things up and wants to share the joy of explosions with other people. Infused with feminine deposits of dekra-tissue, she inflates when drawing out her power, which is frequently. She doesn't were shoes too often because she levitates instinctively. Her species evolved this eons ago to electrocute animals with more success than running away, so waddling wasn't too much of a concern. The fauna that grew up around her people don't attack pregnant women because they just don't know if they'll be choking on electric wrath if they attack. She explains this to her students to assure them that as odd as the form is, it is just as viable as the masculine, muscle building counterpart of the technique. The 'Proud Mother' power as it is called is a highly respected and dignified source of powers in this universe, so her defensiveness of her figure just makes people think she is weird or vain for arguing a point no one was disputing anyway.
She married one of her best student when he went on to develop spectacular techniques for demolition. They were wed just outside the safezone at the predicted time of eruption of Mount Getran, exchanging vows as the the sky caught fire...
