Description Felix and Leon rushed through the forest, racing to the portal where all of their friends were. “Go they need you!” Leon screamed at Felix. Felix nodded and broke down on all fours allowing his Grimm instincts to take over and launch him through the forest. Leon picked up his pace to get there as soon as he could. Felix broke through the brush around the clearing there he saw the witch king and all his friends. They lay there unconscious while the king stood above them triumphant. Felix knew there was only one way to beat him to stop the portal from unleashing the underworld upon the world. Felix fully gave into his Grimm side, allowing instincts to take over as his body grew, bone spikes jutting out of his body as if his body couldn’t contain their immense growth. He roared and threw himself at the witch king who was wrapped up in the ritual and could not defend against the beastly attack. He was tackled to the ground by the beast and it began to start ripping him apart with claws and teeth. Leon arrived minutes later coming upon the scene in a huff. He saw the king was occupied with his friend so he attended to the others on the ground, waking them one at a time. He saw claws reach through the portal attempting to drag something through. Leon rushed to cut the claws off eliciting a roar of agony from the other side. He stood ready for any other monsters that thought they could cross over. This is what he trained for all his life. Just as he was about to cut down more creatures coming through, he was hit in the side by a massive object. Felix was thrown at him by the king. With the final opposition disposed of, he could return to work. The king rose his hands, chanting once more in a forbidden and ancient language few could speak. Felix, now back to his original form, groggily got up to fight but found his leg impaled upon one of Leon’s swords, effectively immobilizing him. Leon struggled to get up but each movement jolted the sword strapped to his hip, Felix could feel the blade tapping bone and screamed in pain. They though the day was over before their friends rose and began to hold the king down, distracting him from finishing the ritual. Felix looked on in amazement as he saw his friends still standing. Leon tried to get up without hurting his friend but Felix looked him dead in the eye as he nodded and ripped the blade through half his leg. Now free, Leon threw himself at the king like the others but horrible creations of death and evil pushed through the portal. The group tried to fight the king and the abominations but were quickly getting overwhelmed. The ghouls ripped the world’s last hope from the king, holding all of them at bay. Each of them struggling to push through, Leon held his blade up at the king’s back. Felix was on the other side, not noticed by the monsters, he had made this last decision. With a final burst of strength to save the world, he hurled himself against the king impaling them both on Leon’s outstretched blade. Felix smirked, staring the dying king in the soulless eyes, as he coughed up blood. “Check...Mate...Bitch…” With the head of the snake cut off, the ghouls in our world began to turn to dust and the portal began to close. Leon, in pure disbelief, held his sword in a loose grip. Felix jerked his body towards the closing portal tossing the king, and Leon’s sword, into a distant world of torture and pain. He screamed as the sword dislodged itself from his body as he watched the king fall. He landed on the ground with a thud, blood oozing from the gaping wounds in his chest and leg. Leon and the others rushed to his side. Leon held his hand firmly over the bleeding hole in his best friend’s chest. Felix weakly put his hand over Leon’s and smiled weakly showing his red stained teeth. “Sorry...About...Your sword...Leon.” Leon shook his head as tears fell from his eyes, choked up for once in his life from losing someone he swore to protect and give his life for. “I’ll get you...a new one…” His eyes began to lose that fire that burned so deep to fight for the world and all within it. His friends watched on in shock, terror and sadness, losing one who’s been with them since the beginning. He looked each one in the eye, smiling his usual giant smile to show his large heart. Some turned away and cried into the chest of others once his gaze broke from theirs. Some screamed at him to stay awake, keep his eyes open, not go into the light. He looked at leon one last time. “We did it pal...We finally did it…We beat that...Son of a bitch...” Leon nodded, not confident enough in his voice to speak. Felix’s eye began to close as he whispered one final heartfelt goodbye to his friends, no, his family. As the life left his body, the sounds stopped. They carried him back to the school, no one saying a word. A few days later they held his funeral, just as he always talked about. His body, dressed in his finest suit, placed in the center of a boat as it drifted off to sea. One of his closest friends lit the arrow and shot it, hitting the boat and setting it ablaze. Everyone watched on as the ashes floated in the wind to lands unknown. All his pals stood as the final people on the beach in the sunset. They each exchanged a look and began departing one by one. Leon was the last to go. He took his duffel bag and slung it across his back as he headed to the blacksmith. He handed him a freshly made sword, the metal being from Felix’s signature weapons, the handle wrapped in the sash you could always find around the fallen friend’s waist. Leon took the sword and paid the workman, and walked to the edge of town. He stood upon a hill above a forest as the sun finally set for the day and night was left to take over. He drew the sharp blade and smiled. Felix kept his word. He got him a new sword after all.
