I had this idea for a Night Fury OC named Lonesome, I've had doodles for months and I decided to actually sit down and draw her. I know there is this head canon that Night Furies travel in family units or packs and I really liked that idea so it got me thinking. Since Night Furies are all dark colors like a blackish blue or just black but with very faint markings. What if a Night Fury had more prominent markings and was a greyish color? Like if it had a mutation that made it be much lighter in color. Would that Night Fury then be a danger to the pack/unit? And what if they were possibly kicked out for the good of the pack since these mutations allowed them to be easily seen? It could have made it impossible for these lighter colored Furies to find a mate because it was seen as a lesser gene, an undesirable one. I'd imagine that at one point the coloration didn't matter until humans started being able to track and kill them, then it became a necessity. Hence the name Lonesome. Anyway it's just an idea, not sure if anything will really come of it or if I'll actually do anything with it. I might change her eye color to be paler since it's a lighter gene coloration.
