I do my lines in Adobe Illustrator [link] is a tutorial on the method I use.

Oh, that's right.

I keep forgetting that good inking does not equal necessarily good line art, and that good line art needs a computer program to exist.

Botherall, it's poor news to be poor.

Any other tips that don't involve the computer step?

Um, practicing with a ball point pen, or a real dip type pen.

Its more about understanding shape and weight and how to use the line to represent that. JUst takes practice.

The last time I tried my dip pens I ended up getting a piece of the paper poked off and stuck between the twines.

It was a messy affair.

PRACTICE, GENTLEMEN, PRACTICE. Y'know, it really works. Working on chords from a Broadway musical on my piano takes a long time, but now it's easier than it used to to hit the right chords in order, yes, indeed.
