In Star Trek: The Next Generation, Alpha Cygni (also known as DenebAridedGallina50 Cygni or Alpha Cygnus) is a star  with an associated star system , an A class blue star  visible from Earth  as the brightest star of the constellation  of Cygnus , over a thousand light-years  from Sol . Quite distant from the core of the Federation , Deneb is most notable to Earth  astronomy  due to observations throughout the history  of Human  science . Planets of the Deneb System

Deneb (aka Alpha Cygni): A Blue-White supergiant star, it is a constellation named Cygnus, sometimes in 2,620 light-years from Earth (Sol).

Deneb I: A Molten Mercury-like planet with volcanic activity

Deneb II: A Earth-like planet, and the site of mass murders of women by the killer Redjac , where he was known as Kesla. The planet itself had frequent choking sandstorms, as well as not a lot of fresh water . Water that was fresh was kept in wells that needed to be cleaned due to the sandstorms. These wells were owned and controlled by certain families for at least a century  as of the 23rd century . Deneb II soon became discovered by the Federation  and was subjected to the Prime Directive . Even so, the influence of the greater galaxy  seeped in and the inhabitants sought to adopt modern ways of doing things. But what was considered out of date by the Federation was considered modern on Deneb II. The planetary government , which was not strong to begin with, divided into two factions. The Water Holders were those who still believed in family rights to wells, and also proclaimed that the water in those wells should only be drunk by the well owner family. The Water Sharers believed in communal ownership of the wells. But in Sharer territories, no one kept the wells clean. They blamed the Holders for the bad wells, and the Holders believed the Sharers were sacrilegious polluters who drank unpurified water and had turned into demons  as a result. A bloody civil war  broke out, and both sides had used their planet's wealth from dilithium  mining  to purchase advanced weaponry , which came with contingents of "advisers." One of these advisers was Johan Merling, who was also serving as a mercenary for the Sharer government. He trained a special forces unit whose mission was to poison  Holder wells and knock them out of commission as water sources. At first the Holders seemed to have the upper hand for a time. But then the Sharers re-surged, and a mass execution of Holders began. What started as a war became genocide . Out of desperation, the Holders started to use military nanotechnology, which was illegal in the Federation. An example of this kind of technology  was the Rendar Mark 7, a type of injector pistol that utilized military nanotech. It was unknown who struck first, but someone dropped some nano into the wells. An infected well was literally turned into a poisonous jelly. Those who drank it died writhing in pain, and then their bodies become infected, zombie -like "walkers" that traveled about spreading the contagion. Parts of the planet's surface became uninhabitable.

Deneb III: A Red Tan Hot Neptune-like planet with 4 moons.

Deneb IV: A Terrestrial planet with no moon which is this means, Deneb was also home to the humanoid  species known as the Bandi . In 2362 , the Federation  made first contact  with the Bandi of Deneb IV and met with their leader, Groppler  Zorn . The contact went well and Zorn promised the Federation that the Bandi could construct a magnificent starbase  for use by them. By 2364Farpoint Station  had been "constructed" and the USS  Enterprise-D was dispatched to the planet to investigate the starbase, as well as collect the rest of her remaining personnel. Eventually, Captain  Jean-Luc Picard  was able to ascertain that the starbase was actually a projection created by a star-jelly . In 2364Leonard McCoy  and Tonia Barrows  traveled to Deneb IV aboard the USS  Hood, where McCoy toured the new Enterprise.

Deneb V: A Earth-like planet with alien species known as Denebians.

Deneb VI: A Red Mars-like Planet.

Deneb VII: A Red Orange Yellow White Jupiter-like planet with Great Orange Spot and 73 moons.

Deneb VIII: A Dark Cyan Blue Saturn-like planet with Large Planetary Ringed and 43 moons.

Deneb IX: A Earth-like planet with one moon which means, It was the homeworld  of a space -faring, warlike  neo-Bandi  culture. In 2269James T. KirkSpock  and Leonard McCoy  experienced a holographic simulation  of Deneb IX aboard the starship  USS  Enterprise using holo-pods, a nascent holodeck  technology . One very large moon  was visible, and the surface was tinted by the blue light  of its star . McCoy commented that it was a convincing simulation. In the 24th century , the Deneb natives signed a treaty with Ambassador  Sarek  that improved stability throughout the sector .
