Fifth Decemboobs entry for 2023. The plan is to do a quick drawing every day based on photo reference that I already have.
Despite its cringe and slightly sexist title, Decemboobs is a fun and useful challenge. Let's face it, us (straight, cis) men tend to make massive fools of themselves when it comes to portraying women, in writing and in art, and breasts are the number 1 locus of straight male foolishness. In writing, we tend to portray women as hyperaware of their own breasts, to the point where they 'breast boobily down the stairs', as the parody goes. In art… giant, misplaced balloon tits happen to the best of us, because we allow them to happen. So a month a year of drawing breasts from reference is… not exactly punishment, but a good remedy against bad habits. This year, I will focus on breasts in motion, because animation, and on smaller breasts, because I tend to neglect them. Except I'm also using some of my old reference, so there'll be a range of shapes and concepts.

This lady struck me with the contrary movements of her breasts as she tiptoed through the grass: one going up, the other going down. She was a very small figure in the reference photo, making capturing that movement more of a challenge.
