The Sheridan orbiting a newly discovered planet with high concentration of dilithium crystals. The ship's presence is needed in order to show the Federation flag, given the planet's proximity to the Klingon Neutral Zone and the Tholian border.

This is my first go at making a planet using procedural materials in 3DS Max. I've been tweaking with it for almost two weeks before I was happy with it.
The "unrealistic" colors of the planet are intentional, as it's intended as a homage of the planet shown in during the intro of TOS. I'm working on more Earth-like planets, so they'll start showing up soon. Well, more like when I can get to finish them.
