Light Source Town, Raelc

After centuries of being locked, the Door of Eclipse is finally opening once more during the day. Entering it will bring you to the bright city of Raelc, the source of Light magic. Buildings of white and gold and crystal clear paths of shimmering water adorn the entire city; a giant sanctuary. A dark cloud never paints the always clear skies, bad weather being unheard of to anyone who has never left the lively city.

The residents of Raelc have naturally angelic appearances, many even with wings. Children are most commonly born with grey wings, but once purified in the holy water of the church, their wings turn white. The rare children to be born with white wings are instantly taken by the church to become priests or priestesses, which is considered an rare honor. The people believe that misdeeds and evil thoughts turn the wings black, and anyone who’s wings are seen to be growing darker are exiled from the golden city, only to return if their wings are white and “pure” once more. Those born without wings are hardly looked upon at all.

The Source is located deep within forbidden chambers on the Raelc’s church, with legends passed down that exposure to anyone but the highest ranks of the church will taint it. Similar to Aval, only the city’s “council” are allowed to even see it, which only consists of five Reveries. Two priests and two priestesses that have been with the city for longer than most any of the residents can remember, and the “leader” of Raelc, Archbishop Ralaia. And just like the Source, few people are even permitted to see the council for the same fear of tainting them. In their place, Archbishop Ralaia’s “daughter,” Avira Ralaia passes on their messages and rulings to the public for them.
