“Happy birthday, Lena!” Supergirl gave her a kiss before handing her a metal box. “And here you figured I’d forgotten.”

“What’s this?” Lena looked at the box. Even though it wasn’t very large, it was rather heavy. “Is this lead?”

“It’s what’s inside that counts.” Supergirl teased.

“Kara…i don’t want krypyonite. I’ve spent the last year destroying every last bit Lex had squirreled away.”

“Don’t worry. It isn’t green. It’s red.”

“Doesn’t red…”

“Yep. And each piece affects me differently.”

“So…you don’t know what this will do to you?”

“No idea,” The Maid of Might admitted with a crooked smile. “only that will only affect me for a day or two.”

“But…but…”

“Oh, come on! Haven’t you told me i should take some time off.”

“Well….if you insist. Are you ready?”

“Let me get into a good pose first.” Supergirl struck a pose, smiled, “All right! Let her rip!”

Lena opened the box and aimed the glowing red stone at her Kryptonian lover. Kara gave a startled mewl as she quickly changed into bronze!

Lena couldn’t believe her eyes. Or the tingling between her legs. Supergirl. Helpless. A few years before and she would have loved humiliating the superhero like this. Now…she was a lover, not an enemy and Lena lovingly stroked her fingers over the shining metal

That was five years ago now. Supergirl had never changed back,

Lena had built a shrine to her, visiting daily with polish and cloth. She carefully went over Supergirl’s bronze form, carefully removing any bit of tarnish she could see,
