I took a stage makeup class recently, so while I've never done any scars for MY cosplays (yet), I can definitely appreciate them on others' cosplays.

Oh...right. That would be a good idea, wouldn't it? *grin* That does look awesome, the glasses are spot on, just like the scar. How'd you do that? I've never seen anyone bother before. And don't beat yourself up about the bayonets, if they look bad, I can't tell from the pictures. Much better than carting around a toy gun with an orange tip, anyways. *gasp* What did you do to your hair?!

Scar is multipurpose silicon molded with cotton tips and my fingernail...
Then while its still soft, I painted with regular water based miniature paint mixed to the colour I like... Mechrite Red, Tallarn Flesh and Denheb stone were the colours I think.
LOL, in my office, I had the yellow hair for 1 day and caused quite a stir, I dyed it back to brown and had a crew cut... I only grow it out for the Cons

Doesn't sound anywhere near as complicated as it looks. Looks really nice, though.
Oh? What do you do that they'd bestir themselves over a little bleach? Lucky you can grow yours out fast enough. *sigh*
The only saving grace is a nerf gun, with which you can actually shoot people...I don't know if you can do that at an actual con, I've never been, but the club at college held a cosplay night, and I went as Pip...coming in late and promptly shooting the first people you see gets quite a few cheers.
It's always good to improve, and I'm sure it would be fun...no one in their right minds would leave me with a welder, though.

The scar literally took about 5 minutes, not including drying time, apply, shape paint, mix more paint re layer and squelch a bit... then clean up the mess.

Especially since I have the sort of friends who, when utterly surprised by a dart to the chest, still play along and crumple dramatically to the floor. *grin* Ah, I wish. I don't take pictures well myself, and it was nearly two years ago, so I don't know if any of them have any.
Because they go well with toast? Om noms.
Sweet. I may have to try that sometime. I have no idea what I would do with a costume scar, but hey. It really does look awesome, though, was a great idea.

hmm... you may want to go with a wig. You could probably find a fairly cheap one somewhere and then cut/style it if necessary
