Alvin is very much a mixed bag on what you'll get from him personality-wise. Depending on who you are and his previous experience with you, he'll either be mostly pleasant or very nasty. Due to growing up in very survival oriented areas and places, he is very quick to jump to the worst conclusion about a person and not trust them unless they have earned his trust. Due to this, he's very antisocial and prefers to just stay within his clique of friends unless someone happens to perk his interest. If you're a complete stranger trying to burst his bubble or get personal/private information out of him, he will be very quick to shove you aside or leave you with a bloody nose and not think anything of it afterwards. Don't mess with him or get in his business if he doesn't trust you.
For those within his close circle, his family, and whoever holds his trust, Alvin can be very snarky, playful, and scary protective. He puts the protection and safety of those he loves over everything and anything else, not hesitating if even his blood family puts those closest to him in danger. Being Irk's second oldest child, Alvin feels responsible for the lives and safety of his family and friends even if no one has put him in that position and/or can handle themselves a good majority of the time. His closest friends, especially his fiance Niko, typically get a closed off, sleepy version of Alvin, but that doesn't mean they haven't seen his true colors and what he's capable of doing. His honesty also plays into this, as Alvin is many things but a liar is not one of them. If he says he's going to hurt you or kick your ass, that's exactly what he's going to do. His "no threats, only promises" way of handling most if not all situations earned him quite a reputation within his crime work, and many still don't mess with him despite not being in that line of work anymore.
Alvin's also very responsible considering he has many things in his life to look after and take care of. Those things being: his arcade, fiance, children, family, etc.. Unless it's genuinely not an important matter, he won't rest until everything is done which typically leaves him groggy and tired the next day. His fiance and his two children are his absolute top priorities and he cares deeply about them, even if he won't publicly show his soft side towards them. He doesn't tolerate his kids or Niko being treated poorly and will go out of his way to take care of the problem himself if that's what has to happen.
Overall while Alvin on the outside can either be someone you shouldn't mess with or a lazy, sleepy average guy, Alvin knows where his priorities lie and he's quite content with his relaxed lifestyle. He has retired from doing anything crime related and has basically settled down to just running his Arcade with his direct and half siblings.

HISTORY
Alvin's history is mostly unknown due to his reluctance to speak on the topic and Irk only saying bits and pieces. What is known is that Alvin was born on a very alien planet in a different dimension entirely between Irk and a ambitious soldier who Irk had met at a bar which was a pretty popular location in their current home. Alvin, his sister Ayala, and his brother Mark were the resulting children from their marriage and ,despite Irk's husband at the time being called away many times on missions and battles, were able to mostly live peacefully and not get wrapped up in the nonsense that would unfold on the front lines... that was until the father had returned from a mission not quite himself. Alvin and his two siblings watched in fear and terror as Irk and their father fought vocally due to the father loosing his mind and threatening to kill her and their children for reasons of nonsense and insanity. When Irk retalliated and she attempted to get their children and leave, the father threw a powerful grenade and everything after that point was...fuzzy.
Irk was able to save Mark and Alvin from the fire, but Ayala was lost and couldn't be found. Assuming the worst after searching for another hour or so, Irk took the kids away and fled the scene.

Alvin and Mark lived with their mother into their late "teenage" years, Irk doing anything and everything she could to provide for the two as well as a new son from another father whom was named Omari. When Irk fell into mafia crime to help her kids survive, Omari and Mark wanted nothing to do with it and left to lead their own lives. Leaving Irk and Alvin alone to survive and work together. Their efforts were successful and they became a renowned crime family within a world that didn't know any better, at least that's what Irk and Alvin had thought. Alvin had bumped into a member of a rival family and the two had fallen deeply in love, the aforementioned member being named Nikolai, despite the dangers it would potentially put the two in. This danger was mostly ignored until Irk was found, nearly killed, and she and Alvin had to vanish to protect her.
Alvin was heartbroken to say the least.
When Alvin could return in hopes of finding Nikolai, he and his family were long gone and Alvin was left to endlessly wander in hopes of finding him. His grief and anger pushed him back into a life of crime where he was very successful and created a reputation for himself within the underground organizations. Alvin was feared by all who knew who he was and what he was capable of, and his smarts and his need to find Niko were his two driving factors to success.
Decades had gone by when Alvin was approached by his younger half brother Omari, Omari having sought him out because word of panic spread about their mother being in potential danger. While Alvin did not want to give up his search, he couldn't leave his mother to die and begrudgingly agreed to go with Omari to assist in protecting her. Going with Omari brought Alvin to a town bewitched by dark Halloween magic and a dark, ominous castle that loomed over everything like an impending shadow. Irk's powers had grown beyond what anyone within Irk's family could of ever expected and someone took advantage of that. In Omari and Alvin's personal goal to save their mother, they ran into a strange man who was also very upset by what had happened to Irk, and joining up with him and other trainers that sought to protect the island, they were able to save her and return Irk to normal. Alvin's selfless efforts in saving his family had also brought him to what he had been searching for all these years, as shortly after the events of Halloween, Alvin and Nikolai were happily reunited. You can guess that there were many tears.
Upon finding Niko and also being reunited with his sister Ayala and later on his brother Mark as well as more half family, Alvin had decided that the best thing to do would be to settle with Niko here and he set up his arcade. He and his family worked hours upon hours to construct the house and the arcade itself, but eventually it was completed and it was settled that it would be Alvin's permanent home and a backup spot for any of his siblings who needed a place to crash. Alvin and Niko had adopted a young girl named Gel and then ended up with a son named Tatsuya and the family lived happily in their current spot.

Currently Alvin lives a very relaxed life, going day by day caring for his family while running his Arcade. His half brother Radon eventually came to stay at their arcade and now helps Alvin in running the place. Alvin spruced himself up with Niko's help and rumor has it he quietly wants to raise a team for battling against gym leaders and even potentially the elites themselves.
