You can't keep someone like me down.
Yes, I'm hurting, but...he taught me to love myself.

And I won't let that be in vain.
I still feel responsible for how this ended. But I won't...let it take away the self-esteem I've had returned to me. I won't let my sadness at failing to tell him how I felt, make me look down on myself.

It was a mistake...a very big one, to stay silent, but life goes on, and it doesn't mean I'm a failure.

Anyway...

This picture...I started before I got the news, and finished as I cried myself sick. This is one reason why I did not erase the hand written date.

This is one of the last times I'll create characters in the Sonic style. After Hidama and Jade's anti-forms...any new characters will be drawn as anthros.

Anyway, this finishes up the Grandkids series. You've seen Pyro and Amarie's children, Zachary and Kelsey's kids, Jeremy and Amberly's children, and Oliver and Aries' son Miles Taylor.

And now, you have Mikomi, the son of Knuckles and Amy, and Kate's, the daughter of Queen Olivia Greyfox, five, count 'em, five kids.

Hey, it's kinda like with Sam from Lord of the Rings. He and his wife Rosie Cotton had more than ten kids, (the exact number escapes me) after the War of the Ring. I like to joke and say that Tolkien was rewarding Sam after going through so much crap, although, depending on who you are that many children could be either a blessing or a curse lol j/k

Anyway, Mikomi finds similar reward. Give the guy a break. He died when he was 17 to save a world that may have not even cared about his sacrifice. Then, he came back ten years later to save everyone again, found his true love, and died again, almost lost to the void, but was granted one more chance to live. He went through hell, and so, after all was said and done, he and Kate, his true love, got to have their family.

You've seen their two sons before. Jake, their oldest son, was drawn in the HTC picture for "At Christmas" Brandon was drawn on request by a friend of mine.

And now you get to see them and their sisters. They're drawn from oldest to youngest, left to right.

Starting with Jake. Obviously he was named after Kate's uncle, King Jacob, who died after being enslaved by Jackie Flise, the antagonist of "Until the End of Forever" He was freed from the corruption by his old friend Hidama, and helped defeat Jackie, only to be killed by her.

Considering all that Kate had been through, losing her uncle was the last nail in the coffin, a coffin almost buried six feet under when she thought she had lost Mikomi. And so out of Jacob's memory, they named their first son Jake.

Next up is their first and eldest daughter, Natalia. I've always loved that name, and like Katerina, I thought it sounded royal, befitting a princess, and as you can see, Natalia, unlike her mother, loves living up to that royal role.

Natalia's younger sister, Rebecca, is Mikomi and Kate's third child. She goes by the name Becky, and is a tomboy. She loves to play with her two brothers more than her two sisters and hates anything frilly. An older Becky would look at this baby picture and be repelled by the pink shirt and heart shaped hairclips she was made to wear.

Brandon is Mikomi and Kate's fourth child, their only other son. He's awfully timid, but toughens up as he gets older.

Aimee is Mikomi and Kate's third daughter, and fifth and final child. Aimee is also the youngest child of this third generation. She was named after Mikomi's mother, Amy. They have the same name, just different spelling.

I can't tell you how tempted I was to go back into my stories and make Brandon and Aimee twins. They look alike don't they? They're the two siblings who ended up with fox shaped ears, and look more like foxes than their siblings.

Anyway, Jake looks the most like his father Mikomi. His hair grows so fast he is able to have a little ponytail at a very young age. He has the echidna eye shape, the hedgehog ears, face, and tail. His eyes are blue, which he got from his father. lawl, Mikomi had one blue eye and one purple eye, but still, the blue eyes came from him.

Natalia also has those blue eyes. You can actually see Amy in her if you look at the grey locks of hair. The pink and grey hair came from Kate obviously, as well as the bangs. Natalia is one of only two of them to have the furry fox muzzle, the fox tail, and the fox eye shape. Natalia also has unique ears; they're hedgehog shaped, but are white on the inside like fox ears.

If you've kept up with my art, Becky's appearance will look familiar. If not...well, you're probably wondering where it came from. Becky, infact, has inherited her appearance from her great-grandmother Laryllia, that is, Knuckles' mother. Here's a picture of Laryllia: [link] The green eyes came from Kate, and Becky is the only other child with the fox eye shape. She also has the hedgehog muzzle and tail.

Brandon, like his older sister Natalia, has unique ears. Not only are they tipped in white like his father Mikomi's, he has contradicting shape and insides. He has fox shaped ears, but they're peach furred on the inside instead of white. He's primarily Greyfox when it comes to his dominant gene, but has the echidna face and eye shape, and inherited purple eyes from Mikomi (or Knuckles if you want to go there).

Little Aimee also takes after her mother. Her hair is style is similar, and like Brandon she looks primarily like a Greyfox when it comes to her dominant gene, but has a little echidna tail, and the hedgehog eye shape. She's also the only child with proper fox ears.

Jake's predominant gene is hedgehog. He's probably the most like his grandfather Knuckles compared to all of Knuckles' grandchildren (including Amarie's four children) Jake sports super strength, and has an attitude that can quickly go sour. However, like his father Mikomi, Jake is very protective of his little sisters, and even Brandon, and goes soft for them. Jake cares little for history, including his own, and after learning of all the trouble the Master Emerald caused everyone, he's happy to know that it's gone, and only rejoices in the fact that it brought his parents together.

Natalia's dominant gene is Greyfox. As I mentioned before, she is a girly girl. She loves the color pink, fairy tales, stuffed animals, candy, glitter...all of that good girl stuff. She also loves being a princess, and can go around school teasing her friends by saying she really is a princess. As she grows up, she is desperate to return to the Northern Kingdom and pull it back together, claiming she's of royal blood and is the only rightful heir.

Obviously she and her mother have nothing in common. However, Natalia and Mikomi are very close. She is her daddy's little girl, and can usually sweet talk him into giving her anything she wants. She tries to dump hard chores on her siblings, but pulls her weight around the house hold and loves her siblings, even if she drives her sisters crazy...especially Becky, who is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Natalia is the older sister they all love to hate, and so the three younger siblings often come crying to Jake begging for him to reason with her. He's the only one of them that Natalia will answer to when she's getting haughty.

Becky's predominant gene is Echidna. Again, she's a tomboy, and is everything that Natalia isn't. She is closest to her brothers, and would much rather be playing sports and getting dirty than to be stuck playing fairy princess with Natalia. Becky is the middle child, and also the middle sister, and can get jealous in a heartbeat. She often feels starved of love and attention, and depends on her cousins Layla, Heather and Dylan, and their grandparents Hidama and Delilah for love when she's feeling ignored. Brandon and Aimee sympathize and look up to her, and will always stand up for her in an arguement.

Brandon, with a Greyfox dominant gene, is the mediator of the family. His older sister Natalia adores him, and will call off a fight with Becky for his sake. All Brandon wants is for everything to stay balanced and calm. If something is in disarray, he does whatever he can to fix it. He's quite fond of his family history, in contrast to Jake who hates it, and wishes he could have had a chance to be a Guardian like his grandfather and grand-uncle. His favorite shirt is one his Aunt Amarie designed for him, and as he gets older, he always gets a new one so he can keep wearing it. He also loves the history of the Northern Kingdom and his royal heritage, another reason Natalia loves him. Brandon is also very shy, but brave and sweet. He is also very close to his mother.

Little Aimee, like her brother, has the dominant Greyfox gene, and is very shy and sweet. She has a soft and high-pitched voice (think Cream). She's a follower, and will usually go along with whatever her older siblings are doing. She's gotten into trouble for this however, when too often her older siblings will run into trouble and blame her for it. Usually only Brandon will abstain from this, for he is the closest to Aimee out of all of his sisters. Brandon and Aimee have a Mikomi/Amarie relationship.

She loves her mother Kate, and like Kate, doesn't like to be held back. As she grows up, she learns to make decisions for herself, and gets upset when her three older siblings make fun of her. Usually Jake will be the last one to do such things, while Natalia and Becky are the classic annoying older sisters. Aimee learns she can count on her brothers when she can't count on her sisters, and that she can count on her sisters when she can't count on her brothers. She also discovers she can count on her parents when she can't count on any of them, and that being the youngest can have it's perks.

Aimee is usually the last one of them that will cause trouble, like Brandon. It's the older three that cause the most mayhem...Jake for taking after Knuckles, Natalia for her tendency to being stuck up and snooty, and Becky for having "middle sibling" syndrome.

Now maybe you see why I wanted to make Brandon and Aimee twins lol.

Anyway, the third generation kids may make an appearance in the last stories of WoLaD. Of course, if that's the case, I'll have to draw the children of all the other pairs I've created XD

...I put a lot of tears into these guys. I hope you like them. I only wish so much of it wasn't messed up lol.
