Description
+++++Name: Lucelle
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height/Weight: 5'4" 130 pounds
Stage name: Taffy
Position in the circus: Sweets Vendor (walks the stands during shows) and minor Illusionist
Personality: Tends to be sweet and kind when dealing with children unless they become what she likes to refer to as Violets. She'll also be equally agitated when encountering adults spouting that anything sweet is unhealthy and not good for you as well. But other then those negative people Lucelle can be quite mischievous and enjoys causing minor pranks to her friends all in good fun according to her. She also has a naive sense of justice loosely based off of how they respond to sweets and will stubbornly condemn them into non existence to her if they are disinclined to agreeing with her love of sweets. Also when angered she'll claim the strangers that caused her to get that way deserve to die and shouldn't stand in front of her. But if it's a Circus member she'll huff off and take her frustrations out in pulling taffy or get lost in making tons of cotton candy.
History: Growing up with parents that were a dentist and doctor, Lucelle often was told time and time again about how sweet things were unhealthy and bad for you. In result of this mantra her parents never allowed anything remotely sweet into the house. But while a neighbor was watching her for the weekend while her parents were at some medical conference, the circus was in town and as the neighbor had children of her own, decided that she would take all of them to it. While there the kind neighbor asked each of the children to pick one thing from the Concessions stand.
Simply excited over the possibilty of finally having the forbidden sweets her parents never allowed, Lucelle couldn't make up her mind for what seemed forever. So that's when she saw the man make cotton candy. Mesmerized by the way he twirled the cardboard tube and almost magically made the cotton candy appear, Lucelle simply had to have it. After purchasing everyone's treats the neighbor herded them into the circus tent to watch all the acts.
Although Lucelle was fascinated with all the different acts the Circus had to offer, she was simply amazed with the magic and illusions act. In her mind she thought how she was holding and eating a small bit of magic was just as amazing as the magic in front of her. With these thoughts in mind Lucelle hoped to learn to perform magic as well. After the Circus was finished the neighbor brought all the children home and from much begging from her children put on "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Simply amazed by all the different sweets in the movie, Lucelle couldn't imagine how anyone could live without sweets. But the weekend had ended and it was time to go back to her parents, who couldn't understand why their child had suddenly become so energetic and unruly.
Because her parents weren't used to such behavior, they punished Lucelle by putting her in room with no dinner. Distressed by this turn of events, Lucelle who was distraught and wishing for more of the sweets she encountered at the circus told herself she must escape and get back to the circus.
Finding a way out of her window, Lucelle grabbed what her small arms could carry and tossed it out the window before climbing down the now convenient tree that was outside her room. After gathering her few belongings she hurried as fast as she could towards the Circus seeing the tops of the tents in the distance.
After what seemed ages Lucelle made it and realized a small problem, the neighbor had paid for them to enter but she had no money to gain entrance and even worse the gates were shut. Simply distraught over this Lucelle wandered around the sides of the Circus grounds and noticed a back entry where people were starting to pack up and move on to the next location. What she hadn't realized was the Circus was in a hurry to get out of town as the towns people were blaming them on a murder that had happened nearby over the weekend. In the mad rush no one seemed to notice the little girl slip inside and hide in one of the stock cars.
As the procession was coming to a halt for a break Lucelle couldn't believe her luck in getting inside. But to her surprise she smelled something foul and decided to investigate and that's when she saw the body. In complete shock at the discover Lucelle scrambled her way backwards and fell out of the wagon and hit the ground, where the Circus crew were stretching out and taking care of the various animals while on rest. As the people were in chaos over having a stowaway Lucelle began crying from what she had seen and having found she had scrapes and cuts all over her legs and arms from where she had fallen on loose rocks on the ground. As various people tried everything they could to quiet her, it wasn't until a lollipop had appeared in front of her being held by the Circus' magician, seeing the much desired sweets she had sought, Lucelle quieted her tears and reached for it and took it in awe. Relief spread through all the crew members as the crying stopped but tension was still abound as there was still the issue of the fact of her discovering the disposed of body in the wagon. The magician reassured them by taking the young Lucelle under his wing and teaching her the ways of magic and illusions. But what Lucelle hadn't realized was that the magician was a skilled hypnotist and simply used his talent on Lucelle to forget her discovery and that she was always apart of the Circus and was training as his apprentice.
So Lucelle began working as an assistant to the magician and learned minor tricks he had and after time learned other more handy tricks as she walked the crowd with some of the other Circus members closer to her age. While they worked for the Circus, kids will still be kids and would try and get anything they could from the Concessions stand. And despite the magician's hypnosis, Lucelle held a fascination with cotton candy and anything sweet. On her off time and not having any current errands for the Magician, Lucelle would help out at the Concession stand and in turn the man working the stand taught her how to make several of her favorite sweets. But after several years on the road with the circus it unfortunately shut down after it was discovered many of the Circus members were stealing from the people.
With no where to go Lucelle followed the Magician as he performed at small venues to try and make ends meet. While performing in a small venue just outside of Sacremento, Lucelle noticed a flyer for Cirque Des Horreurs and decided to see about joining as the Circus was all she knows of doing.
