Polyamory is super hard to make in family trees why War-Forged whyyyyy
and Ida's neck looks weird. IDK why. Don't look at it too hard.

I write too much for my own good. Building characters will be the death of me I swear. I'm probably never going to think of any of them again and yet I just spent like an hour or two writing. RIP

Ida || 33 Years (born 1667) || Plecostomus Hippocampus || Vindicator (Soldier)
Ida grew in a prosperous apana herding clan with her two parents. Life was good, and she had little knowledge or care for the war that had ended right before hre birth. As she reached her teens Ida became rather irresponsible and did away with her responsibilities. This prompted her father to cull her to Aodh to become a slave, though before she could reach the country she was freed by a rebel group known as the Vindicators. Without a home to go to Ida joined them, and now helps them free more horses from the slavery of Aodh and culling of the War-Forged herd.

Paternal Side
Father || Fletcher || 64 Years (born 1637) || Common Horse || Herder
Raised in war and the only remaining son of four by the age of 26, it is not a surprise that Fletcher grew to be a rather pessimistic and angry stallion. He was adamantly against the merging of the clans into a unified herd, but was also very much a coward and found excuses not to fight alongside his brothers. Instead he remained at home, tending to his ranch and building its success. In this way, he was able to come out of the other side of war alive, though as much could not be said about much of his family. He married in 1664 to a much younger mare from a neighboring clan. They proposed the marraige to help strengthen their clans and to maintain good relations with their neighbors, though of politics Fletcher could care less. The mare was beautiful, and a stallion without a wife was nothing in this country. He mostly ignored the clan's future attempts to communicate and lived a rathr sheltered life from then on out with his wife and soon daughter as well. Life was prosperous for a while, and Fletcher soon rose the ranks to become a quite well-known and respected herder in those parts. Until, that is, his daughter began giving him trouble. As she started sneaking off with a stallion friend of hers (and doing gods know what) as well as avoiding clan responsibilities, he put his hoof down and reported her to the stone circle to be culled to Aodh. While it made sense at the time being, Fletcher didn't anticipate the backlash he not only got from his wife (as he didn't consult her) but from the community as well. Having your ownly child culled to Aodh was not great for one's reputation.

Currently Fletcher is focusing hard on rebuilding his reputation, though he hasn't yet figured out how to rebuild his relationship with his wife.

Aunt || Rose || 16 Years at Death (born 1639)  || Unicorn || Herder
Rose was always a rather sickly mare, and while medics tried to bring up her health, it was eventually determined that she would be ill for most of her life. Once the war started less focus was turned towards trying to help her heal, and instead as a child she was mostly left to her own devices to rest and do less taxing house and ranchwork. Rose was eventually overcome by illness and died in 1655.

Uncle || Duff || 21 Years at Death (born 1641) || Common Horse || Raider
Having grown up in a war-torn country, Duff was raised in a world of horrors and bloodshed. He was a bitter and angry horse right from when the war started, and it was no surprise to anyone that he had decided to fight in the war against herd unity as soon as he was able. Duff was as traditional as a stallion could be; he was brave, ill-tempered, mysoginistic, and 100% against the unity of the herds. He was struck down in a gruesome battle in 1662, though not without taking out much of the enemy.

Uncle || Derry || 20 Years at Death (born 1643) || Unicorn || Herder
Derry was the only child of Murphy and Bridget, and he was thought of to be rather strange by his home clan. Duff rarely spoke and mostly kept to himself, even as a child. He was soft, empathetic, and opposed to violence- all traits frowned upon in War-Forged society. However, he had a certain talent when dealing with the apana, and brought the clan great profit so they let it slide. Unfortunately the war reached his clan, despite its remoteness, and Derry, along with his brother, were called to war. He fought for a few years, though ultimately disappeared in the fray and was assumed dead.

Grandfather || Murphy || 60 Years at Death (born 1613)|| Unicorn || Herder
Murphy was a herder from an old and honourable clan. He was proud of his roots, and opposed the war with every fibre of his being. During the war he fought against herd unity, but when they ultimately lost he resigned himself to grumbling and complaining to anyone who would listen. Though unhappy with the world's politics, Murphy was otherwise an alright man. He wasn't mean or lazy, but worked hard in order to uphold the family title and honour. He died in 1673 in a blizzard along with his wife.

Grandmother (Biological) || Octavia || 60 Years at Death (born 1613) || Common Horse || Herder
Octavia was outspoken, impulsive, and generally rude- not celebrated traits in a war-forged mare. She gave her parents a difficult time all through her childhood, and once she was married to Murphy continued to give him a difficult time right until she died. She disagreed with everything- from the war to the way that the apana were treated down to how the children were raised. There were lots of arguments in the household between Octavia and Murphy, so mostly everyone avoided her. In 1673 she was killed in a blizzard alongside her husband.

Grandmother || Bridget || 49 Years at Death  (born 1614)|| Unicorn || Herder
Bridget was a quiet and soft-spoken mare. Though she never wanted to marry (much less Murphy of all horses) by the time she was old enough to do so she had little courage or expectation to opppose the matter. She never much liked her husband or his first wife, though she doted upon her son and was very close to Bess. Unfortunately she died of illness soon after her son went missing in the war.

Grandmother || Bess || 85 Years (born 1616) || Common Horse || Stationary Merchant
Bess is an incredibly optimistic mare, much to Octavia's annoyance. She married murphy in ___ as his youngest wife, and though she bared no children she brought some success on the family through selling apana clothing and other accessories in market. Though her eyesight is beginning to fail her, as well as her hearing, Bess still knits as best she can, and is happy enough to talk to anyone who stops by.

Maternal Side
Mother || Molly || 55 Years (born 1646) || Walking Catfish Hippocampus || Herder
Molly was born at the very start of the war, and was raised in a household full of stress and worry. Though their farm was rather out of the way from the fighting, there was always the looming worry that something might happen to harm their little farm. Slowly the clan began to dwindle in number as many left to war, and never returned. Near the end of the war, Molly too was sent away, though not to fight. There was a handsome and respectable stallion who owned an expansive apana ranch nearby, and he had so far been able to avoid the war and fighting. She would be safe there, her parents assured her, and she was sent to live with a stallion 9 years older than her at the age of 18. Molly never liked Fletcher much, as he was often in a sour mood, but she tolerated him well enough. During the last year of war she had her first and only child, a daughter, and she brought Molly some joy, if small. Unfortunately as Ida grew Molly had less and less control over the child, to the point where she was avoiding her responsibilities. Before Molly could step in, her husband did instead, culling their only daughter to Aodh to become a slave. Devistated and bitter towards her husband for not even consulting her on the matter, Molly became withdrawn and refused to so much look at her husband.

Currently Molly is trying to plan some way of leaving Fletcher, as she has no more tolerance left in her for such a horrible man.

Aunt || Quinn || 60 Years (born 1641) || Common Horse || Caenna
Quinn is a beautiful and kind mare, who has dedicated herself to Kaia. She has a certain talent for children, and a love for the stories and songs of old. She was raised in a loving family along with her three parents and two sisters, however was forced to flee her homeland when the nearby war became too gruesome. She married stallion who unfortunately ended up dying right before the end of the war, and hasn't remarried since.

Currently Quinn still works as a Caenna in a town not too far away from her farm home. Her parents often visit when they come to market.

Aunt || Gwenda || 17 Years at Death (born 1645) || Common Horse || Farmer
Gwenda was quite an adventureous mare, a trait she no doubt gained form her mother. She was always cheerful, though rather clingy to her mother, and never left her side even in her teenage years. While she showed much promise in farming, she was unfortunately killed while looking for firewood by warriors who thought they were spies during the war.

Grandfather || Buckley || 80 Years (born 1621) || Common Horse || Farmer
Buckley has remained in the same home his entire life, inheriting it from his father, and his father before that. He comes from a long line of farmers, and though not particularly famous or well known, the clan itself was successful enough to get by. When he was old enough he was married to two mares, both beautiful in their own right, and he loved them with all his heart. Though the marraiges had been arranged by their respective clans, the three got along splendidly, and were a happy family. Buckley had three daughters, the best daughters in his eyes, and he loved them too. Unfortunately the war caused turmoil and stress in the small farming clan. After the death of his wife and daughter Ginger and Gwenda, Buckley panicked. The home was not safe for them, he decided, and after consulting Cloud it was agreed that their daughters would be sent away to safer, more remote places.

Now that the war is over and he is retired, Buckley's life has become more relaxing. He still viists his daughters as often as he can, and does easier work alongside his wife Cloud. Though his hearing is mostly gone now, he keeps himself busy carving small totems and prayer idols to sell at the nearby market.

Grandmother (Biological) || Cloud || 77 Years (born 1624) || Glass Catfish Hippocampus || Farmer
Cloud grew up in a small clan-controlled town off the coast to some humble stationary merchant parents. Her clan was an old and peaceful one, and were good with words. They were prosperous in trade and knew how to keep the surrounding clans happy without getting too involved in their politics. Cloud's marraige was a result of their politicking and peace-keeping, and as soon as she was old enough, she was married off to a stallion from a different herd. She lived happily with him on his farm and had two beautiful children, though the stress of the war forced her to marry them off early to safer homes.

Currently she still remains on her farm with her husband, though in her older age she mostly lets the other clan members and farm horses work the land. Cloud mostly does less physical work, and watches the community foals.

Grandmother || Ginger || 40 Years at Death (born 1622) || Salmon Hippocampus || Farmer
Ginger was a cheerful mare, and loved a bit of adventure. She had a talent for working with plants and growing things, and once she was old enough it was decided she would be sent as a peace offering to a farming clan hers was on somewhat unfriendly terms with. This was thrilling to Ginger, who yearned to see new lands and meet new horses. While she was somewhat nervous of meeting the unfriendly stallion, it turned out Buckley and his other wife, Cloud, were both kind and cheerful horses, and Ginger fit right in. She had many adventures here, and it wasn't unheard of for her to wander off for a few days into the wilds to search for strange animals or other things. Once she even returned with a blessing from Kaia. Ginger and her daughter, Gwenda, both died while out looking for firewood in some nearby forests, killed by warring horses who thought they were spies.
