About a year ago, my good friend and fellow Deviant RichardOxley showed me a clip from the movie musical "Matilda", of the song "Revolting Children". One scene involved a couple of kids dancing on a pedestal where a fallen statue once stood. He hoped that scene would inspire me to do a drawing. Well, it's been a year, but it finally happened. That scene inspired me to do this drawing - of Matilda herself. Of course, I had a few of my own designs for her that I thought I'd use. For one thing, I thought I'd draw croc shoes on her. I'd never drawn croc shoes before. And since she's such an avid book reader, I tried to picture her reading more contemporary fare, like, say...the Hunger Games. I drew a belly shirt on her with the most recent Hunger Games logo. Some of the Matilda book illustrations had her drawn with a big red bow in her hair, so I included one, along with a braid going around her head.
