It's about time that I upload some of what I've been doing, and this includes launching Space Shuttles.In-Universe Explanation: When the R&D guys noticed that the Space Shuttle had a lot of useless dry mass in the form of wings, that gave them an idea: Clip the wings of the orbiter to launch heavier payloads!
That was easier said than done. But they did it anyways. Plus the main engines are reusable too with that inflatable heat shield.
