If even half of what you say of the outside world is true, mankind has made great strides since I stopped caring about your realms. Part of me almost wants to sneak into town one of these nights to steal a printing press so you can start preserving some of the older volumes in the library. Yes, I have struck out into your cities every few decades or so, but those were always quick and purposeful trips to remind the current monarch I'm still around if I start to run low on slaves. I never took a moment to understand anything strange to my eyes, so I'm glad I have you to tell me about them. Oh, I'm glad you no longer see working for me as a burden, and you've become quite proficient in your service. I've not had anyone to consider as more than a passing acquaintance in many, many years, so your company is refreshing and even invigorating. And your pretty face is even a source of pleasant warmth in an otherwise dreary manor, though you and your work helping it to become a little less dreary by the day.
