RiftRoamers RPG - Torika Industries Model V10c AeroTruck labeled for owner operator McGraw Trucking Ltd.

After a hiatus of several years, I got back to modeling in Blender and I recently updated my AeroTruck concepts from a few years back (see here: www.deviantart.com/riftroamer/… ). The concepts are for the RiftRoamers SciFi RPG project (which I'll likely never finish, but has been in development - on and off - since 1991). Comments welcome.

I guess, I got carried away a little and re-worked all my Aero Truck models (7 designs with 7 different trailers). I'll try to post them all one after the other. Cheers

All other models and textures by me, using modified CC-0 textures from polyhaven.com/ for the asphalt and concrete. Modeled in Blender, rendered in EEVEE.

These grav trucks are a common sight on USC core worlds. The in case of detachable trailers, the rig is rigidly attached to the trailer. When negotiating tight corners these trucks will simply lift off and turn into the other road above the obstacles. If time is more pressing than cost efficiency these trucks go completely airborne with the option of reaching a planetary orbit (where drive performance starts to drop rapidly).

Grav lifters in RiftRoamers have a Ground Effect causing a significant reduction of energy consumption when operating close to the ground. Usually these vehicles cruise highways at a very low altitude (less than 2m) which saves up to 80% of power. On roads with energy induction loops onboard power drain is even lower. So to profit from public induced energy supply flying a grav vehicle as part of the ground traffic is necessary (fees are included in vehicle taxes).

Grav vehicles are commonly known as Aeros. An Aero can be as small as a modern day european Smart car or as huge as these AeroTrucks. AeroTrucks in fulfill a role similar to modern day feeder ships, collecting cargo from various locations around a planet and hauling it towards the nearest (star-) port. Crews are quite small with common AI support and owner or family operated businesses are common in this regard.

There are also similar sized wheeled ground vehicles that have a much higher load to power ratio, but lower speeds, as one might imagine.
