The idea is great but the photograph is not so great.
The composition is not at it's best, I'd change the angle a bit, to the left, and would take few steps backwards, also I'd advice to use a tripod for sharper images. Also the colours - I'd play a bit with camera settings regarding exposure, and aperture, also I would use a lower iso, so the grainy effect would be eliminated.

OK Jenny.
Thx for your constructive remarks. when you take this kind of almost spontaneous photos you usually have no tripod, hence the need for higher ISO. Regarding the angle, unfortunately, I do not understand to which geometry you intend to reach (to the left meaning what vis-a-vis the angle of the window to have it near to 90 degrees or change background view?).
Anyhow thx again for your dedicated attention Jenny and for you aspiration to technical perfection.
With love and respect, Riki

You are very welcome
About the angle: I meant, something like three steps backwards and to the left few steps from the spot you took this from.
I would include also more of the background - the space behind the restaurant from the right. This picture is not balanced well in it's composition, it gives me the feeling you cut it from the left.
I say that only because I've been there by chance, remembered your work, and walked around to see what was the better angle.
When you sent this work to the group, we have accepted it only because I am very found of your idea.
I know, why the ISO is high in this image. My suggestion works regarding the iso only if you apply it with the rest. Maybe, if you don't live too far, and have a bit of spare time, you could bring the tripod and just retake this picture - and this one leave as a sketch.

Jenny,
Thx again. Now it's quite clear.
The fact is that this idea was not so spontaneous as it appears since I tried to take several pics in this evening of this location that we both know so well. The truth is that in Hopper's masterpiece the space on the left of the window (when you look at it) is empty what is not the case here so I was pretty aware that the problematic framing might harm the pic what, as you consider and I quite agree, happened...
I shall have to look for new ideas, even though tomorrow I have tickets to the Opera.
At the same time I did not dropped completely the idea of using a tripod (just that mine is quite lousy and I have to purchase a new one)...
Kisses, Riki

Your welcome
Ah, I see.
I look at the original now, and the only "white" I see is the floor of the street. The street behind the cafe is visible, so taking a bit more from the left, would be actually closer to the original.
Also if "the behind" which you avoided to photograph of the original angle interferes you, you could walk around and take the same picture from the other side (the one you photographed here). There is a new building which seems more futuristic and it can bring you a new meaning to your work. Also if you want you can easily flip it over to the original position in photoshop, afterwards.
Have a joyful Opera.
A tripod, should not be too expensive, it sure much cheaper than a good camera.

Pfff, I have looked the picture and searched a link to Hopper: [link] because my first impression was that painting...and now I am reading you mentioned it too! Very nice photo!
Riki, have you looked where I went two weeks ago? Look around in my gallery - look the "Browse" menu, because there is nothing in the "Featured".

Eddy, I know that you are a great connoisseur of European painting but this doesn't exclude, of course, the huge American...

indeed there's a lot of similarities with the Hopper's painting, the glass surrounding the coffee shop specially.
BTW, excellent capture, caught right on time
