I read Robert Kirman's first issue of new story, Void Rivals! Since some people don't know, no, its not THE new Transformers comic series, as that comes out in October, but this series has Transformers in it and exists in tbe same universe. To what degree, well gotta wait as time goes on. I have opinions on the story and characters, and the context of this art piece, but thats spoiler territory (tho seeing this isn't. because Sky is shown in tbe cover its not a suprise he is there AJDJSJ). So all I say is. Just read it, it dont bite. Its aight. Also as a Transformers fan with favorites who aren't main characters, I will make feast of famine no matter the length of a characters cameo so AHAHAA.

I see people throwing opinions on the future of Transformers and well. Personally to me its literally too soon to tell XD In any case, cant wait to see what the team at @skyboundent has in the store in the coming months :]!

Anyway, I wanted to do a lil study of the art style of the comic, mixing some elements of my own lol. lore _de_fe's art ink style used in the first issue Theres a pen and marker texture of somewhat organic, rough line art and crosshatching with pure black areas. Im not really a Comics Person, does give me like a throwback to older comic styles kind of vibe? Given I hate drawing pens, I used my dried years years old Microns for some of the textures, and my usual ink plus a cheap brush for others, and dip pen for the line art.

For the colors, it was done by by matlopes . Lots of warm in the foreground but cooler in the background, reds n yellows up front with purplish mountains. And of course, the color splotch stars! I just used some Poscas lool

(Also. I used my Siege Skyfire as my reference, as I wanted to practice perspective and. Man... Sky got that yellow plastic syndrome and cool GRAY plastic too???? cowabummer x2 But funny bc in the comic yea he has yellow lighting and cool gray shadows lmao aaaa😭😭)
