My first post since moving to my new place and starting my new job! Sorry it's been so long haha. Things have been super crazy around here, so I just haven't had the time or energy to post or draw much. A few weeks ago, though, I finally found the drive to start drawing again! I still have a lot to do around the new apartment and haven't been able to get into a routine; my work schedule has been different almost every week for the past month due to Covid, the project I was working on, and me getting a little sick for a while at the end of May (it wasn't anything serious). I don't think I'll be consistent in my uploads yet because my schedule is so irregular, but I'll try my best to update things when I can.

I finished this a week or two but never got around to posting it. I've recently been getting back into drawing my griffians; they've been a new source of inspiration ever since I moved and re-did my villain group. However, I've always had a hard time with my Terradragon Sift's design. I love the colors, but I've been having a harder time with her overall design lately. I tried swapping her with no luck (I seriously can't sell / swap any CS I own. It's so annoying), but I also was still attached to her and wasn't super excited about selling her. So, I decided on trying to redesign her and see if something I could come with would stick.

My design skills are not the strongest, but I really love this redesign haha. I took inspiration from some of the Terradragon designs I really love by looking at them and asking myself "what parts of this design do I really like?" The answer was hair and a color swap. Sift didn't have any hair on the top of her head in the original design, but I was always drawn to the Terradragon designs that had hair as opposed to those that lacked hair. I also just wasn't a fan of the dark-colored gas and the way her head was only connected to the rest of the body by the gas. The sharp contrast between the gas (dark brown) and the body (light green) really detached her head from the rest of her body, which bothered me. So I opted with giving her a gas collar as well as gas flowing around her wrists and ankles to make her body more cohesive. I then switched her body and gas color so that she looked a little more natural; the brown body looks better to me than the brown gas. Because she was an older Terradragon, her old design was lacking the prominent features of Gas Terradragons, so I exaggerated her ear tufts and whiskers. Finally, Sift was cursed during one of the Hallowbean events a few years ago and Enchanted during the merger of Terradragons and Terratraps, so I added the pink and black swirls to her inner ear.

Overall, I'm so happy and had so much fun working on Sift's redesign. She's one of my oldest's griffs, and I'm glad I was able to pull off the glow-up she deserved. I'm hoping to draw her Titan form soon! I'm not sure how much I'll actually be using her Griffolk form. Also, I have no idea what items I would need to make this official, and honestly, I don't really care about doing that unless I were to get in trouble or something haha
