I first made Avalanche about 4 1/2 years ago, forgot about him until 2 years ago, redesigned him, then he faded into the background. Then I brought him back. He is a Tyrann, a species of large sentient reptilians with two main stages to their lifecycle. When they hatch from eggs, they look very humanoid like, rounded heads, slim limbs, long limbs and grasping fingers, and covered in either or scales and feathers. As they grow up they stay roughly human sized and even able to interbreed with humans during their 1st Stage. When they reach about 90 years of age, they transition to the 2nd Stage of their lives. Their jaws lengthen and tails thicken, arms and fingers atrophy while the legs thicken. Tyranns grow throughout their lives and can live for centuries. Some of the oldest Tyranns are regarded as the most powerful of the unsuperpowered beings. Tyranns are rare, numbering only a few thousand in a loose kingdom on the remote island chain of what was once North America's eastern seaboard while millions live scattered throughout the world.
